FAQs
> How is it free?
They invest your unsettled funds after a trade.
It's also pretty basic software.
> When is it coming to my country?
Probably never. They only have plans on an Australian beta ( https://robinhood.com/au/).
> It's been X days, why isn't my account isn't verified yet?
If it takes more than 3 days, try emailing their support. They are very good.
> Is this the right place to pump and dump and/or shill a worthless stock?
No, please go to Stocktwits, Plebbit, or one of our many chat groups.
> What's a good penny stock to invest in?
Don't buy penny stocks you cum guzzling mouth breathing retard.
> I hit sell when the stock was X.XX, but it actually sold at a lower price, am I being jewed?
No, that would actually be illegal. Robinhood graphs are just shit and only show you an average, not-really-realtime price. To get Bid/Ask prices and important things like candlestick graphs, you should use a more robust platform.
> Where can I get better charting or bid/ask?
thinkorswim is bretty gud if you want to go open a second account with real broker.
Otherwise you should be using Yahoo/Google finance or even Stocktwits for your graphing in addition to Robinhood.
Old Thread: >>1229204
Pretty drunk at work reporting in. I have about $100 in my Robinhood account but I've been too much of a weenie to put it into anything for the past month.
>>1233651
buy ODP
when office depot and staples merger is finally approved it will jump nicely
>>1233651
Get CPXX and CERU for guaranteed returns.
>>1233670
I've kept my eye on CERU for a couple days. I feel like it will plummet pretty hard this weekend. I don't think I'll buy from them above $2.
>>1233657
I'm skeptical about these physical office supply companies. Working in an office myself, they just seem desperate. I use about a ream of paper a month. Granted, a merger should produce a spike for a week or 2.
>>1233647
Buy DRRX
Dipping currently but its going to DA MOON
You heard it here first.
>>1233675
they are volatile as fuck and these memelords like to dream that they'll make +10% gains in a day
of course they dont realize that they lose -15% the next day but whatever
>>1233677
So basically a day trading sort of thing? Making $10 a day after eyeing a stock for a few hours or whatever?
>>1233679
A little more than that. A few guys here keep an eye on FDA rullings on companies and when one comes along looking like they are going to get drug x approved they hope to get a quick buck on the hype wagon. Since FDA is public knowledge it gives a little more insight.
http://www.biopharmcatalyst.com/fda-calendar/
$TTNP is a really good value right now.
Get it at the dip.
>>1233692
what makes you say this? I see it's double the avg volume, but the positioning doesn't look great. Not saying you are wrong (i have followed your advice before and know you are smart) but im just curious about your logic.
>>1233688
take a look at SRPT
>>1233679
Not really day-trading so much as riding PDUFA calendars (in the same way that many others ride earnings announcements).
You find a stock with an upcoming PDUFA for a disease with a large or captive market (orphan diseases and cancer are big ones), then you figure out which companies are attempting to address those markets, and find the PDUFAs for their offerings. You buy or short the stock, and then wait for the PDUFA date to see if you bet the right way, or you ride the wave up to the PDUFA and get out right before trading freezes in anticipation of the PDUFA results.
>>1233651
im on the same boat as you and ive been thinking of only fucking with ETFs
SPHQ
SH
SPXS
SPLV
seems like i could make few bucks depending on the market without much risk until i can drop some real money. for some reason i keep thinking we're due for another major decline because election year
>told myself I wasn't gonna be a dumbass this time
>picked a bunch of meme stocks anyway instead of dumping everything in NUGT like I originally planned
Might as well kill myself
>>1233838
I feel like if we play UWTI DWTI and leveraged gold ETFs just right, we could make some serious profit.
Oh fuck, I forgot it was Friday and now I have to hold my memestock all weekend. How fucked am I?
Can I start trading on Robinhood with only $20? Is it even worth trying with so little money?
>>1234080
We already have an imageboard to do that, go fuck yourself.
>>1234071
Apparently yes. I started off with 500 myself. 20 is ok if you continue to put in week after week.
>>1234071
Start with anything, the idea in the beggining is to gain a feel of the markets.
I'm up 23.4% this year so far. Put $1000 in and now it's up to $1,234 how am I doing?
>>1233647
So as someone who is nearly completely naive to trading and finance in general, I am looking to see if I'm completely clear about this robinhood business.
>No commission fees for buying/selling whatsoever so the only money I would be losing from buying/selling stocks would be the actual value of stocks decreasing and taxes I would pay on any profit.
Therefore am I to understand correctly I could put $500 in a robinhood account, and buy/sell stocks all day willynilly and the only punishment for trades would be loss/taxes on the value?
>>1235039
Pretty good. I'm 500 -> 660 in 1.5 months. Control your losses and the money will flow in.
Also, tried long-term investing w/ 1000$ and I'm up 80$ on that this year.
Ponzischeme
>>1235114
You can only buy/sell 3 stocks a week because there is no margin. Aside from that your only losses are taxes and bad investments.
>>1235039
I'm up 24% on the month.
Trading stocks is much easier than trading cryptocurrency, markets are extremely predictable.
>>1235307
Calm down champ.
Everyone's a winner until they're not.
how many of you have actually made money over the past 6 months? seriously
>>1235310
Speak for yourself chief.
So what's supposed to be good next week?
>>1235261
I think it's 3 round trip trades. You can buy and sell all you want outside that. Can anyone confirm?
>>1235600
I put $20 on CERU and $20 on NWBO but thats just like my opinion man
Is GLD or IAU better?
>>1235671
>2 failing companies
>good
>>1235702
dude I'm not Warren Buffet. I'm not looking to buy and hold $40 for 10 years. I'm looking to sell within a couple weeks for a $10 profit
So how many days after an ER do you guys usually wait to buy back into a stock?
So does anyone else think silver may be in for a price correction soon?
I mean the long term trend is positive, but the short term one just screams overbought.
>>1235913
I feel like silver and gold are probably hitting their highs right now. I feel like they will go down a bit for a while and then shoot back up towards the end of the year.
>only ~31,000 people ahead of me in line for the Australian beta
Guess I'll come back in a couple of years.
>>1236001
>People will still be holding NETE expecting a moon shot in a few years
Why isn't everyone buying American oil companies right now?? Are you all mad??
>>1236312
I have been for 8 months
I've been waiting since February, I emailed them and they said I was like 200,000 something in line.
Anybody know what to do?
>>1236347
Honestly, if I didn't have robinhood instant I would probably use ameritrade or something.
Is it time to short the S&P 500?
SLW's earning report is tomorrow. Buy in after?
Or is it not likely to go much higher?
>>1236335
Me too. It's so freeing, isn't it?
>>1236637
Maybe. There was resistance ~2100 so it would have been smarter to short around there.
Most of the shit data has already been priced in. Crisises are what will make SP500 plummet at this point.
I would try and research Asian & European markets as they are most vulnerable.
A European bank collapse would be just what is needed, but they still have lots of room for stimulus, so I think it's very unlikely.
>>1237236
Short China then?
Bought a few shares of Marathon Oil m8ys
$100 throwaway money but it looks like it'll get out of its dip
Also thoughts on JCP? Earnings coming out on Friday and thinking about calls since they're generaly shit as a stock
>>1236347
Talk friends and family into making accounts. Every person you get to create one helps a lot
SP500 going up tomorrow?
With retail earnings reports coming out this week would it be a good idea to buy into SZK to short commercial goods?
>>1235391
so nobody? everybody is just throwing their money away?
you're all just retards throwing money at the odds of a dice praying that somehow you'll out compete an index fund when 80% of professionals can't even do that
>>1237334
nice b8 m8. nobody cares adios
>>1237257
JCP feels scary, retail is bankrupting everywhere, JCP supposedly has 4B in debt and it cannot continue without serious restructuring.
That said they might surprise on earnings my brother works there and he sees a lot of customers.
Here is the thing so there is a social media company called Friendable that trades about 2 cents a share. Might be a scam but it did get into that J-Lo video Ain't Your Mama.
Its FDBL and AYM just reached 9 million views this weekend.
Its risky as fuck but don't hunt me down if it goes up 1200% tomorrow and you miss out, all I am saying.
>>1237419
thank you for being a fag and watching j-lo videos for us
So since nvidia has is coming out with some hardcore priced GPUs, I know for sure its stock is gonna go up. The question is what will AMD do and what will happen to its price?
I am def getting out of and today and gonna stay on the sidelines to see what happens. Any theories?
>>1234071
If you want to learn to play blackjack, would you start off at the $1 table or the $100 table?

GST
Double your money in less than a couple weeks
>>1237619
GST is dying, why tf would I give it my money?
Finally got the initiative to start investing, lads. I've got $200 in ATVI - it's been on the rise and Blizzard has Hearthstone gaining momentum, Overwatch dropping this month, Legion dropping in July, and the Warcraft movie coming out as well. It seems like a sure bet. What does /biz/ think?
Man you have to be vigilant at all times. I would've sunk a pretty penny in krispy Kreme had I known about the deal
Ask the ceru whale anything.
AMD was a meme after all.
>>1237627
>Didn't buy the huge ceru dip while none of their products have changed.
>What is a correction.
ITT salt.
>>1233714
> http://www.cnbc.com/2016/05/02/fda-may-approve-implantable-drug-to-ease-opiod-withdrawal.html
In theory it looks pretty sound to me.
Can't find why it dipped so hard last week, but their latest drug looks really promising.
Opioid addiction has been in the limelight a few times on both sides of the presidential debate, and it's a huge deal among working class people who can actually afford this now.
They've got an FDA action date set before the end of month, and they only have to prove the drug doesn't do harm. These guys have also been in business for a while so I don't see too much risk here.
>>1233647
I've got a few thousand in extra cash laying around.
Should I go into this with $100 and expect to lose that money, or is it likely I'll make any gains?
Is there a desktop client?
Are there similar services for desktop use?
I don't want to stare at my phone all day.
>>1237658
Thank you, picked up a few shares.
Good side money.
UWTI is looking looking like a good buy. I think it'll keep dropping today.
>>1237621
I think its solid, I have 1300 in them. Overwatch waifubait, candycrush girl gamers, call of duty remastered and the supply drops etc, great projections to make money off casuals
>>1237621
Blizz should, hopefully, reach the same value as EA since their practices are much more solid. As for the Warcraft movie, that doesn't matter to much since the license is being rented to Lionsgate and isn't being made in-house. Also look into Take Two (TTWO)
How's ARNA looking? Earnings are suppose to come out after market close today
>>1237712
For those small bios I usually buy in afterwards.
Most of the time their ER's aren't good because lolnoproduct and the prices drop at least 5%. Don't listen to the tards that say a bad ER is already "priced in" because it isn't. It's actually inflated duw to hopeful idiots hoping for a moonshot for no reason.
>>1237714
Looking at it, analysis is expecting real heavy losses of at least 24%. Their weight loss, and only, drug has gotten no traction
Anyone holding %PETX?
They weathered the earnings report and are about to get FDA approvals - should be a slow and easy +35% ROI in the next few weeks ... right?
>>1237694
Warcraft movie a flop
Overwatch dead on arrival
Call of duty dying
King mobile a horrible investment
I invited a friend and got them to sign up, but I haven' been bumped up in the line for Instant. What gives?
>>1237784

>DSL
I've been memed, thought not as bad as NUGT
>>1237779
I guarantee you that Overwatch will do better than Battleborn and Paragon.
And casuals will buy CoD no matter what
Warcraft will fucking flop
>>1237796
He's already had his account confirmed.
is the HEAR train crashed and burned like Hindenberg?
>>1237819
Time
Guys guys please tell me SKLN is gonna make it
Dont know if I want to put money into NUGT or UWTI right now
>>1237882
UWTI, rebound tommorow guaranteed.
I'm holding AAPL. Am I memed?
MRO expected to rise? I'm thinking of putting some money in it
>>1237628
you can't really expect it to rise after hitting a 52 week High.......
All your Rendered Weeaboo Waifus can't save you if you didn't even consider that...
I'm calling it right now, SCTY to skyrocket after ER report... but i'm done with this fucking company, After losing 15%, i ain't playing anymore...
>>1237864
Well it hasn't dropped significantly and we're still waiting on those "contracts" they promised a few weeks ago. I'm holding out cause I think there's definitely long term potential if not immediate returns.
>>1237901
Hope oil does better overall. Lost 3% overall today.
Oil glut when?
>>1237961
OH MY GOD! ITS GOING DOWN LIKE THE HINDENBURG!
WHEN WILL IT STOP?! OHH THE HUMANITYYY....
>>1238015
I made a little bit on UWTI today, then sold right before it dropped hard.
>>1238048
Nice.
>>1238044
im sorry
Came here to gloat over NWBO's nice 20% today
i say buy NETE this Thursday morning & Wait for 16th Q1 2016 Earning Report.
>>1237779
Whatever you say, lad.
CERU shill, what's the deal?
When is the moon mission?
>>1238400
Look at what has happened on the day after every single one of their earnings reports and then thing about that idea some more
Finally a good open for once
>>1233692
oh fugg this was actually good
Thoughts on CYTR?
Alright anon's I was right about KGC and the gold rise, now I am betting HEAR will rise back to 1.00$ Buy now! Also Ceru is still Pump and dump.
Is it still too early to get into SLW?
Woulda coulda shoulda, Fuck! Still have to wait one more day for funds to clear.
>>1237961
Now's the time to buy. It's going to the moon in 2-3 years.
>>1239218
I've been trying n that stock for three quarters now. It won't rise again until December. Only reason it rose in the first place was because if the EA partnership they had for Battlefront. They currently have no new products on the horizon outside of their poorly marketed hearing aids which, despite being very good, don't sell. Their main product is video game headsets
>>1239157
May 19th.
They report for a gynocology conference to present crlx101 ovarian cancer findings.
Maybe 20th if not 19th.
wtf
I have 500 lying around. Do I go all in on CERU?
>>1239346
BALLS DEEP
you can also invest in DIS for a safe bet. Q1 earnings are coming in after the bell where Zootopia pulled in hard, Civil War is out, and theme park in Hong Kong soon to be open
Post em
Up 4.5% on oil today ayy
>>1239379
Lots of greenies today, what gives?
Currently down
>>1239404
I'm almost always green, but the broad market is green today, so that's why.
>tfw might hit $700 before the week ends
>>1239379
NUGT/SLW gains all day. I can buy so many Mcdoubles now.
>>1239353
Their biggest money maker is cable tv though. And that's in the trash bin
Avoid DIS. Not safe
What app to trade if located in EU?
>>1239339
where can i get this informations, i think generally about any company, is there some website for it? thx
Good God! I was hoping for the prices to stay down until the end of the week. Any chance for short sellers to fuck CERU over the next two days?
>>1239493
Ceruleans website and fda calender
>>1239499
Very doubtful considering frr llc just bought 333,333 shares increasing ceru's institutional investors by 19.6% since last quarter.
>finance.yahoo.com/q/mh?s=CERU+Major+Holders
Also they almost hit their all time low of 1.82 a share by getting to 2.30.
0% chance of it crippling.
Buy now.
>>1239353
>DIS for a safe bet.
Nice call, retard.
>>1239548
>Buy now.
I would love to but money from my sale won't be available until tomorrow. And I am not sure when RH will make it available. It sucks wanting to buy something and watching it go up while you wait.
>>1239404
>AAPL, TWTR, TSLA, NFLX
lmfao
>>1239659
>mfw I DID call it

the short DIS thesis has been consensus among buy side for like a year, you didn't call shit
>DIS down 20% past 12 months

>>1239707
DIS fails me
>>1239701
That's what came preloaded with Robinhood ;)
>>1239714
Looking at it, DIS actually beat expectations. Market is putting to much emphasis on ESPN
>>1239723
considering ESPN accounts for 70% of their subscriber value, it's not really surprising is it?
>>1239718
really? how awful. i was gonna get a RH and mess around on it but now i dont want to.

I just lost like 500$
Anyone know why SKLN went up 11% in after hours trading ? Is this our moonshot?
Bought a small amount of DSLV today since silver will be going down in the short term.
I'm thinking of buying in some YANG as well since the chinese economy looks like it's running into trouble.
Bought $MGT and $SCTY. How fucked am I?
>>1235391
i got robinhood about two weeks ago. started with $1000. have sold 3 stocks for slight gains, have 3 picks that are down slightly and 2 up slightly. right now i'm down $14.57 overall.
just kinda learning the platform and getting the feel of this 3 day settlement lag.
so, yeah... my real brokerage and ira account full of indexes are beating my robinhood meme trading.
i find this more fun than scratch-off lottery tickets or watching dwts or... whatever it is that normal ppl do for fun.
>>1240120
You need to be more selective of what you trade. Picking a few arbitrary meme stocks everyday won't make you much.
My friend opened an account 3 months ago with a $2000 size. He's down ~$150 trading random meme stocks.
Meanwhile, I'm up $190 on $500 trading mostly shit I've been following for a while.

but i want to! i want to feel like a powerful meme trader buying and selling stock every day. the problem is that 3 day waiting period. when i finally get instant i will be losing money so fast i'll have to get a second job just to keep funding my account! i can't wait. it'll be bad-ass!
>>1239903
fuck me
Someone explain this shit to me.
And tell me the history of /biz/ fucking with it.
Like is it true bloomberg did an article on how you guys love this?
>>1240210
No, that was about the subreddit Wallstreetbets. Nobody would write an article about /biz/ since we just lie about our gains and push shit stocks.
>>1239659
>tfw literally everyone forgot Disney owns the espn money pit that drains it's profits
Don't worry guys, it's not like everyone has been pointing this out for months.
>>1240218
we seriously need to focus on etfs. Penny stocks are leading us no where.,,
>>1240235
Someone tell me if this is retarded or not:
>Look for sectors that have been "performing well"
>Buy into inverse ETFs when the bullish hype peaks
>Cash out on the correction/retracement.
It's the closest we can get to shorting on Robin Hood.
>>1240241
>when the bullish hype peaks
Tell me when you figure out how to time that one. It's much easier to buy depressed industries. Any energy ETF is a near sure bet for 25% return over the next couple years
>>1240250
Monitor hyping on biz, stocktwits, and news media and some technical analysis I guess.
>>1240262
Maybe looking for certain phrases like "will it continue?" in the headlines will tell you if you're at the tail end of a possible hype run.
>>1240235
I agree. I've been making a few bucks on nugt and dust but timing them is mostly luck and I've been lucky. Gold miners are sporadic at least right now.
I'm also watch dgaz since summer is coming and people should use less of it.
>>1240250
I've heard a couple times now that energy is low. Are there any relevant corporations in particular that you (or /biz/ as a whole) would recommend investing in?

Anon, if only you listened to me yesterday you'd realize I WAS RIGHT AGAIN!
I have VHI at 1.80, PBIB at 1.95, AZUR at .85, and GNE at 7.79. How fucked am I for the rest of the week?
So glad I'm playing the markets now, feels so good to watch my money slowly disappear for reasons I can't understand
>>1240685
How the hell is it gone today? Market shot up like crazy.
Guys, does anyone have a good copper stock recommendation?
>>1240687
I'm only in on two stocks, one being SKLN which has been steadily dropping for weeks because I fell for the meme. I could dump more money into RH and make my position better, but I'm frankly tired of it
>>1240689
Look here's the thing, if you are new expect to be in the red for a while until you learn proper trading, SKLN did make us some money back in the day but you have to watch that shit man.
>>1240692
I'm just looking to break even on it, I've accepted I'm not making butt tons of money, just annoyed at myself.
Stocks to buy now and sell before market close?

Even it breaking above a dollar doesn't matter much to me. I bought the fucking thing at $2. Still, I was wrong. AGAIN
>>1240684

is it time to dump EA? They already announced Bsttlefront 2 and Battlefield 1. Not much left to announce at E3
>>1240703
I doubt they'll do much else coming from EA
>>1240703
If your tolerance for slow moving bullish stocks is high I would set stop at like 73 and just chill and do you. All analysts are predicting it rises to 83+.
However, if you did make 16% or so I would say you can sell now with no regrets. Who knows what really will happen?
>>1240723
I sold at $74. Rather invest more in Activision and Take Two for now
Anyone happen to know why XCOM dropped to a 52 week low out of nowhere?

NVDA TO DA FUKEN MOON!!!
I thought this would be all over /biz/ today desu
>>1241411
I got it, decided not to use it. Cant trade as often as I want to with instant
>>1241425
That's one for no.
>>1241430
I use instant. The way I trade kinda works around it. I just wait until I see something worth going all in for. If I was wrong, I cut my loss as quickly as possible. If I'm right, I let it ride until I get nervous. I don't really like holding anything over night, and I don't like watching 20 stocks at the same time. I often just play with UWTI/DWTI.
>>1241454
WIth instant, if you buy and sell the same stock in a day wouldnt they ban you for being a "pattern day trader"?
>>1241457
I can do that 3 times per week, which is nice because it also limits me from looking for stocks all day every day. Without instant, I would have to wait 3 days for funds to settle every time. This way, if there is a catalyst or some overspeculation that I see, I can buy same day if the opportunity is really there
>>1241457
So a better question would be to ask what kind of trading you'd like to be doing, and then ask yourself which set of rules is closest to the style that you've established. If you like to have your hands in a ton of little things and make trades all day, then I could see how a regular account would be a better choice
>>1241454
This is what I've been doing except with nugt and dust. Made bank on dust in the a.m and good gains on nugt in the pm. Used 2 day trades though so I'll probably grab some nugt to hold over night since GS just raised its price target. Wish the Fed would lift the day trade limit, forcing people to hold over night helps nobody.
>>1241556
All the more incentive to get your account balance to $25k bruh.
I fucking hate DUST. I would play with it again if they would do a reverse split. Maybe.
>>1241134
What I do not get is how people claim they do "research."
I have done plenty of candlesticking lately, even on day-to-day trades, and they backfire like a cunt.
With that in mind, what are your "research and time" sinks that you talk about? How do you find up and coming stocks without piggybacking?

>Put $10,000 in robin hood
>Get a list of the S&P 500 companies
>Split the $10,000 into those companies by making 500 different buy orders
>Now you own the S&P 500 with 0% fees

in the long run you will make less. Every time the SP increases in value the fund manager uses the profits from your money to buy more shares. Downside is that if the SP goes down and then back up, you end up losing more money than if you bought outside of a fund.
IDK if this sounds coherent... i just took a 3 hour long math test and haven't eaten today..
>>1240589
