Was there anyone who successfully predicted the 2008 stock market crash before it happened?
And I don't mean some random asshat saying"I totally knew it I swear" I mean is there any articles or videos from 2007 and earlier that predict the 2008 crash?

There are always people claiming a market crash is coming so there's bound to be some
plenty of them

I predicted it, but didn't know what I was doing. I was long ProShares UltraShort Real Estate (ticker SRS) for $50k in early 2008. It doubled in 6 months or so but I thought worst wasn't over and didn't sell. I think I ended up down 40% when I sold in 2009.
First mistake: I did not know that inverse ETFs are not meant to be held long term.
Second mistake: Thinking I could time the market.

Interesting, thanks
I predict we are near one again... it wont take much. I can name a half dozens reasons that would cause one, but virtually all are completely unpredictable and most are terrorist involved.

Terrorists won't cause a recession. Rising interest rates will.
I saw a video from a national mortgage originators confrence. Probably posted here. It was 2006 maybe. Dude nails it. He does not predict a crash, he basically predicts the timeline begining to end. The only thing he was wrong about was how long and deep it would go,he failed to predict the governemnt reaction so his predictions were a little more dire. It's fucking incredible I will link it if I can find it.
>10,000 retards predict a crash every single week on /pol/
>Eventually crash happens
WOW WHAT A PROPHET HE PREDICTED THE MARKETS
If these people are supposedly so smart to predict the markets, why did none of them take out loans to short the markets and become billionaires?
Steve Keen
Michael Hudson
Other commies

pretty sure theyre making a movie about it with A list actors. google "the big short"
John Bogle switched from a 70/30 stocks/bonds portfolio to a 30/70 one I believe
Kyle Bass
John Paulson
Both of those guys made billions.
Hedge fund manager John Paulson shorted the subprime mortgage market in 2006 and personally made $4 billion. Then he turned around and bet almost everything on gold and personally made another $5 billion in 2010.
The dude's a fucking legend.

Ignore Schiff
He's a dooms day "economist"
He predicted a crash every year for the previous five years and every year after.
Nothing more than the broken clock finally being right.

Schiff was right on the causes that brought about the crash in 2007/08 and is probably right on what will bring about the upcoming catastrophic collapse. He has value, just not in timing anything.
