The Drake Equation was written for aliens advanced enough to send radio waves, but yeah it can be applied to alien existence.

With a sample size of one, it's currently not possible to state the likelihood of any life-supporting planets existing out there.

Neil deGrasse Tyson once said if a more advanced species is out there and there is a galactic system of intelligence, aliens would treat us the way we would a worm. Because we're so used to seeing worms all the time they do not fascinate us, so we either look down at them and go past them, continuing with our everyday life, or we crush them.

Planets need to be in the Goldilocks zone (a planet not too close to the sun where it is too hot, but not too far away where it's too cold) to be habitable. Astronomers or Astrophysicist's or whatever you call them have already found several, which are unfortunately lightyears away but look very much like Earth. Probably says they more than likely exist, the universe is 'infinite' so the probability of anything happening goes to 1. Have aliens visited our planet? Fuck no, it would be pointless. For resources? Nope. Even our less than advanced civilization is already planning to procure asteroids for their resources, no advanced civilization with the capability to reach our planet would come here for that since it's literally infinitely easier to find near wherever they are. The only reason they would visit is to scare you and make you paranoid apparently.

If "God" is what you cling on to as an assumption in that argument, consider that besides the human being he has created many more animals, bacteria, and viruses.
Which ever god may exists (if he does) he did not create only humans. therefore we can learn from that -> he made other life forms.

Agreed with you mate, but you're looking at an infinitely expanding universe the wrong way.

Picture an infinitely long ruler. Each cm marking is a galaxy. The ruler is not getting any longer at one end since it is already infinite. Instead, space is expanding between the cm markings, or the galaxies. They are getting further away from each other as a result.

We know this because the energy expanding the universe (dark energy as we can't identify it) is stronger than gravity. More dark energy is created with new real estate between galaxies, but matter with gravity is not.

Yes, on this planet fam.
If you consider religious bibles to be a valid point in this discussion you must face that other religions recognize the existence of other life forms, not to mention some of them even worship them. (it's true, google it, you'll get a few good kek's out of it.)

And if we're already on the subject, there are more proof of aliens , that there is to god.
Since the universe is infinite and mathematically speaking there must be another planet out there with living conditions . therefore, as funny as it may sound, you have more proof and reason to believe fucking aliens than you do for believing in god.

NO??!! What the fuck is that? That's making a fuck of a lot of assumptions, the main one being that we MUST be the YOUNGEST species in the entire universe. Life started on Earth 4 billion years ago, why the fuck would anyone assume that it MUST have started earlier than that elsewhere?

thats not what it is saying at all. there are other possibilities, for example that planets are somehow destroyed before they have the technology to visit other planets with life.

The people saying aliens MUST have found us by now aren't smart enough to come to that conclusion

>universe is like 14 billion years old
the first several billion years, the universe was uninhabitable by organic life, leaving MAYBE 4 billion years of room.

I'm not saying advanced life DOESN'T exist, I think advanced and less evolved lifeforms both exist, it's just annoying when people say the only type of life form that exists would have to be more advanced than ours.
>>
>>693710342
That can't bebe true.

If the universe is infinite then all possibilities have to happen. That means that alien life must both exist and that it doesn't. Infinity does not work. The universe is one of many, like a bubble.

And how do you explain the big bang? It was small. I had a size.

No, your brain allows you to perceive the universe. It existed and will continue to exist after your brain dies (medical death).

>>693713036
In maths but not in physical reality. The universe is expanding infinitely, but the matter is not. For all possibilities to occur (including the popular multiple Earths, multiple yous thought exercises) you need an infinite amount of matter. We do not have this.

The big bang is tricky, but the universe does not need a size for it to have inflated. Since we know it is infinitely expanding, there is the possibility that it was once INFINITELY SMALL. This does not give it a shape.

UFO sightings are pretty much established as being real
some cases you may want to look up

(several governments basically admit the existence of the UFO phenomenon)
>battle of San Francisco
>belgian UFO wave

it's also not believing the "people on drugs", it's the UFOs coming after someone takes DMT and totally SOBER people seeing the fucking thing

Do aliens exist in the universe? Most certainly. Are they visiting us? Nope. Then what is it people see? What is in op's pic? That answer is simple. Demons. Demons are real. They exist on the moon. Can't say live because they are not alive like we are. They go from the moon to here to carry out what ever designs they have foe people. I've seen their transports. They look like lights. The Apollo astronauts saw them and spoke to them. We were told not to come back. They get the moon because it is lifeless like they are.

You say for certain that the universe is infinite in the first place. You can't prove it's infinite because you can't get to the edge. You can't prove it is finite for the same reason. It's too far away. Sounds like a win win for you buddy. Someone please explain how we know for sure the universe is iinfinite?

I think the universe is a sphere but is expanding in a sea of others. The reason it may be "infinite" is because the ball gets bigger and we can't see over the horizon like on earth. Eventually it might collide with another one and cause another universe to be born.

Anyone who's done this, what do thess beings do in their lives? Just drift around dimensions?

Things that can't possibly be explained in human terms. Even the jump from a 3 dimensional + 1 temporal continuum to a 4 dimensional + 1 temporal continuum is too bizarre to make out the slightest detail, other than statistical information. You think your smile or frown looks like :) or :( when projected into 4 spatial dimensions?

And yet, if you see a person who has a completely neutral expression, walking around in the middle of the day, it's perceived as exactly whatever you project onto it. If you're a scaredy cat, you think people with neutral expressions are trying to hurt you. If you're a pervert, you think people with a neutral expression are trying to flirt with you. But it's all just in your mind.

That's the primary difficulty humans are having when attempting to communicate with kinds of realities that are not the ones they are familiar with. There's no protocol for establishing different kinds of reality. It's all either "this is real" or "this is not real." There's no protocol for saying "in 3d spatial + 1 temporal reality, these things exist, but in 4d spatial + 1 temporal reality, these things don't exist."

To a higher spatially oriented dimensional being, most of what human behavior comes across is like random noise. Occasionally, from this noise, intelligence patterns emerge typically in the form of recursion. Occasionally, from this noise, you get human minds modeling human minds modeling other human minds, and such, and these patterns look very different from the rest, like the difference between a sunflower and a seed. For this reason, error in perception frequently occurs when a metaphor is taken too literally, or a literal statement is taken metaphorically.

There isn't really a remedy for this miscommunication, except for repetition, and practice. It is trivial to establish a mutually beneficial exchange, but first you have to know what it is you find mutually beneficial in your existence. And often, people actually don't.
>>
>>693719208
when you are on a journey to "other worlds" you can encounter a vast amount of entities, some of them very dark and intimidating
but when you are back in your physical body, they can not longer reach you, because you are not longer in their realm
aliens can...

I feel weird just writing about them...

If you are interested, try DMT and focus on them
but I would honestly advise against it

>as I said, scary as fuck those things
Yes. But consider this a serious question; consider this a question posed from a being that is not being sarcastic, or trying to make a point with the question, but merely wants to know the answer:

>as I said, scary as fuck those things
Do you want more, or less of this type of interaction? Do you want more or less of the kinds of experiences which give you the sensation of "as I said, scary as fuck those things" and makes the hair stand on the back of your neck, and gets your blood and heart pumping fast with excitement and adrenaline, as the serotonin from your brain is released, triggering the consciousness experience of thrilling euphoria.

Is this good, or bad?
>The surprising things is, some people say they want more, and some say they want less.

Humans have a couple of strong advantages going for them:

1) Very unpredictable. This won't make sense, until you realize that there is kind of cold war which can be fought, or a peace which can be enforced by way of exhaustively identifying all the possible ways a scenario could develop, and simulating each scenario. Humans have a habit of breaking these predictions. In a more pleasant light, complex randomness is valuable because it can be used / studied to develop ideas, technologies, abilities, solutions to problems that haven't even been considered yet. There is a false human perception I need to dismiss in case anybody thought I was alluding it to it--there is this false perception that humans are somehow encapsulated in a machine matrix mental network. This is completely the opposite. There are machine matrix mental networks, but they love complex, random organic life specifically because it produces data sets that would take so much longer to identify via exhaustively checking each possible scenario once at a time. (Google A* search algorithms and genetic computation to learn more.)

2) Humans are aligned for quantum calculation. Although typically not programmed or trained properly to do so, the human species is capable of engaging their minds so as to set up recursive, quantum gravitational feed back loops that can be used to model geometries with a calculation that surpasses anything your digital computers could ever accomplish. If you could just see the minds of every person on the planet, as their brains light up in rhythm to a song they are all listening at once, you'd understand. If you could just float above your world, and see everybody's hearts beating in rhythm, and trace the patterns which reveal so much about the way their society is arranged, you'd understand. But in the illusion of separation, it can become unapparent that the human mind is capable of powerful, quantum computations that would defy modern scientific dogma.

>>693725564

3) Humans are emotional translators. There is a great diversity of different modes of thought that exist within the human social sphere. Beings who believe they are the smartest in existence can, through humans, project a signal that reverberates and contacts a different group of beings, who believed *they* were the smartest in existence. Many groups are capable of discovering new kinds of life that they never imagined could exist, by way of interacting with humans on this planet, who have had sporadic contact with those beings all along. Far from being on the distant outer rim of other realms, Earth is a kind of interdimensional / galactic super highway. This has something to do with the way the human brain has evolved through the years.

There are many species that have an abundance of left brained style thinking. (Categorical, like the directories on your PC.) There are many species that have an abundance of right brained style thinking. (Spatial, like the data in your image sets.) There are previous few species that can combine both styles of thinking into one brain, all the while mixing all these other signals like scent, and sight, and hearing all at once, with a temporal memory matrix. A human can be both an independent agent, and a tentacle of a larger organism. A cog in a machine, and an expressive unpredictable flower blossoming in an environment it never "should." Much variability, much value. It is a monumental achievement, and don't let anybody sell you short of who you are.

Aliens aren't bullshit. The greys like you in your pic are a high chance of being bullshit though. The chance of intelligent life on another planet somewhere in this universe is extremely high. The chance that extraterrestrial life has visited this planet is however extremely low.

distance is of course the obvious factor. But also just to pick Earth to visit out of billions of other planets to visit also plays into it. There's lot of factors but these are two of the biggies

What would the distance need to be, in order for the chance of extraterrestrial life having visited this planet to be extremely high, instead of extremely low?

meteorites mostly come from our solar system's matter, or certainly from our sector of the galaxy. It's entirely possible that celestial bodies with live are a 1 in a million thing. As far as intelligent life, 1 out of 8.7 million organisms on earth are intelligent, and we are incapable of long range space travel. That said, i have no idea if there's life out there. Frankly, it's extremely unlikely we'll ever find out.
>>
>>693728009
there are a lot of unknown factors and assumptions in these calculations

what if there is a way of interstellar travel we don't know about?
eg. go into 5 dimensional space, get back out 100 light years away

what if there is actually an easy method to detect life on far away planets?

the answer is obviously, your calculation becomes worthless

>It is trivial to establish a mutually beneficial exchange, but first you have to know what it is you find mutually beneficial in your existence. And often, people actually don't.

What do you even want? At this point, I feel like I should refer you to Bashar, who has a theory of the "higher and physical mind," which work in tandem. The higher mind wants to give the physical mind everything it can, but the physical mind doesn't even know what to ask for.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYyzuq88j54

Bashar is an interesting fellow. I can't speak for him, and you can make up your own mind as to what you want to believe from that channel.

Speaking for the greys specifically, it is possible to increase the probability of an event occurring in your reality experience, so long as the way in which that probability is increased goes unnoticed. The more specific you are about how a scenario unfolds, the less possible it is for it to do so. There is an element of trust that is necessary. Do you have something in mind? Would you like to attempt to begin a dialogue? I can relay you the instructions to begin a recursive thought stream, that will gain the attention of Greys, for all realities in which Greys are exist, if you want to begin translating between left brain and right brain styles of thinking for them.
>>
>>693729156
This is where you're wrong. Saying something has a low chance doesn't mean there is no chance. You're obviously projecting or just want to argue due to character flaws.
In the NBA Finals, being down 3 games to 1 means you have a very low chance of winning a championship. Does that mean you can't win the championship? No, it does not. Don't believe me, ask Lebron.

Yes, but science is a strange game. You never know how many points the next shot is going to be worth. Sometimes a visionary comes through and dunks a ball for 1,000,000 points, when they were previously behind 3-1, and just completely obliterates any preconceived notion of what was possible at that moment. When was the last time you counted the things you did that day, that were considered magical 3 generations ago?

Let's break it down...
We've either been visited or we have not been visited.
Is there any undeniable proof that we've been visited? No, none.
Are there billions of potential planets for extraterrestrials to search for life? Yes.

>>693730533
Chance means exactly that, chance. Could it happen? Sure. Chance can only be calculated with what we know. This obviously goes without saying. How in the hell can we calculate things with logic and science we have yet to discover? But again, that's not to say we haven't been visited ever. Maybe we have. It's just there is no proof whatsoever and there's a host of other things that make that chance smaller.
I personally hope we're visited someday. But if our history is any indication, this could be a bad thing. All of our history's explorers meant death and loss to the indigenous people they encountered.

>eventually get to be able to move my arms
>take my right arm and literally throw it across her chest
>she finally wakes up
>"anon, what the fuck is wrong with you?!"
>almost in tears it was so scary
>don't even bother telling her until 2 days later

It is hard to say, because it was night, and its color was sort of velvet black, so it was really hard to see where are the edges. It was definitely flat. It was hovering above the ground. It had a couple of dimmed lights. I first mistook the lights for the lampposts. After I stared at it for like ten or thirty seconds it started to slowly glide away. I followed it with my eyes until it disappeared in the darkness.

This is actually the second time I am telling it to someone. The first one was my roommate. He was not able to sleep the whole night.

Sleep paralysis sounds unbelievable. You wake from sleep. As you lie in bed, you feel like someone is standing over you in the darkness. You try to move your head only slightly to take a subtle glance, but you can't. Someone -- something -- is surely holding you down. You attempt to struggle, to thrash your arms and legs, but you are frozen in place. Sheer panic washes over you as your paralysis lingers.

Though this may sound all too unreal, sleep paralysis is indeed a very real experience.

If you have experienced something similar while awakening, you are familiar with the unforgettable horrors of sleep paralysis. Sleep paralysis is a transient inability to move or speak as one goes from sleep to wakefulness, without other findings characteristic of narcolepsy. In sleep paralysis, this often occurs while awakening (hypnopompic) as opposed to falling asleep (hypnagogic), which is more common in narcolepsy.

The lights from under this thing were kind of similar in the size to those of the lampposts, but the color of the light was slightly different. That's how I noticed it. I was walking my way home when I noticed those strange "lampposts" and then realized in a split second what I am actually seeing. The whole realization got me dizzy, so I walked a bit to also get the feeling of the perspective but was not able to capture the shape of the whole thing with my eyes. I am tempted to say it was triangular, but I am not even 80% sure.
