What is life? Is our bodies just a carrier? Does it even matter if we get to be reborn again if we can't keep our memories? For all you know, you could have died a day or hour before you were reborn but you don't know cause your memories were left behind in the old body. But what helps me sleep at night is believing in God and that he has more planned for our contiousness or at least in technology. When I seek immortality, I understand I won't be immune to death, at least not how I see immortality being reachable (synthetic body with brain transplant expected to be achievable in the next 40 years give or take). I understand if I fuck up hard enough I'll still die, or feel pain. But what I'm trying to avoid is the aging factor, that slow decend to a state were I might not be able to do half the shit I do now, that sensation thst a clock is ticking, if I kill myself that's my problem but I don't want my time to run out just cause randomness or whatever. I want time to see the future, to see space, new worlds. There is a universe of infinite possibilities and I want to see and experience all of that.

But in an event most of us want to live on, there is plenty of planets to do it on. As for our brains going bad. The answer to stopping that or slowing it down is in stem cells which has been proving to regenerate brain. Tissue. We might just see something close to immortality in our life time of not immortality itself (disclaimer a black hole or something similar in destruction could still kill you)
