The other thing I do like is "harsh living conditions".

Unbearable cruel dramas unfolding, fortunes and hardships decided by cold dice roll, pain and death happening over and over, just in the corner of your eye.

That's why I like the Alleyway Fluffy as a general concept. Struggling for the next bite to eat, the next drop to drink and the next shelter from the elements. And you have those little creatures out there, designed to live a vastly different Life then they do, utterly unprepared of what lays ahead of in their short remaining time.
And they struggle, hang on onto their sliver of hope not out of bravery but pure despair.

They huddle together at the bottom of the food chain, trying to leverage their fragility with fertility, which turns out to be an entire new source of emotional pain. The passing of parents, siblings and children, noticed by anybody else then them.
And time and time again they look up to the apex predator only to utter the futile words that more often bring pain than relief:

No one likes being angry. Instead, I've realized that seeking to get angry on purpose is what brought those people to 4chan in the first place. It's the same outrage mechanic that makes media promote the negative sides of things.

Bad news catch humans attention and cause them to pay more attention. 4chan, in all its trolling and shitposting causes these people to keep paying more attention to it, because it APPEARS important by causing anger.
