I thought brits were smarter than to leave the EU just because they're butthurt that the UK is not the "great" nation it used to be.
There is no actual advantage for either the EU or UK in favor of brexit.

you cannot vote for the eu president, you can vote for an MEP and one will get elected (usually the one who has business interests in the EU for when his term ends) who has to go against 27 other MEP's from different nations to decide whether a law gets passed that affects all of their home nations, never mind the drastically different cultures of these nations. The MEP's in the eu commission then vote themselves on the 3 presidents, not the public. 59% of laws are passed by the EU this way, we will never have the right to appeal or create new laws or legislations as we can with parliament. Magna carta will be undone.
77% of all vetos made against eu laws on the UK were ignored, and 80% since david cameron was in power.

Thats why, because I want me, and possibly my future family and my extended family and kin and countrymen to live in a democratic society, not a dystopian, totalitarian super state.

This video shows it well, unfortunately, people are happy to hand their liberty over believing they are unracist, progressive and believe the buzz scares of a another recession, even though if you bothered to look up the data, we have had a recession every decade, except this one thus far.
>>
How are people so easily fooled. When Britain first joined the EU it was only for trade and thats what the first referendum reflected.

Not fucking laws and regulations, I'd be willing to bet all these politicians suddenly citing work dont have a clue how the data was obtained or what it even means, just left wing sheep repeating what someone else told them.

Brussels isn't democratic organisation, and I like having representation with the government that rules, the non-democratic EU wants to become a federal government and to replace NATO with its own army. So I have plenty of reasons to vote out. Why would I vote to kill democracy in my country? I hope I’m wrong about the way the EU is going but I’m not will to take that chance.

It doesn't help that the racists are kind of loud about it. I've done a bit of research today out of curiosity since I'm an amerifat and couldn't vote anyway. There seem to be some valid reasons to leave but I had to do some digging to get past "hur dur sand-niggers" reasoning. I'm not sure how I'd vote if I had the chance, but I'm glad I know a little more about it.

The only thing I've learned about EU, is that it gives bigger fishing ratios to Belgium, Spai and Italy than it does to UK.

That's bullshit.
>>
Leave backers that use immigration as an argument are fucking autistic.

If the UK want's to trade with the EU it's going to have to negotiate a deal. In that deal we'll most likely have to allow freedom of movement, just like Iceland, Norway and Switzerland does.

You cannot vote for who is our prime minister, you cannot vote for civil service mandarins. That's not how representative democracy works.

Through being an integral part of Europe we introduce checks and balances to the democratic process of all member states by having a much broader and more diverse range of opinions, views and philosophies represented in the legislative and executive bodies.

you can vote for the representative of the party you favour and their MP's, that is a fact. You cannot vote for the MEP representative in the EU commission, nor the one of the three presidents in the EU(which arent MEP's), that is a fact.

What checks and balances to the democratic process are given to us? If the uk a primarily conservative nation doesnt want turkey to invade them as the (turkish prime minister has actually threatened look it up) and join the eu but the other nations do, we have to suffer what their different politically inclined nations want, how is that good for a states social moral, living conditions and welfare, if its forced something it doesnt want.

you mean so that in future one would say instead of: "I'm german / french / british /...", rather just "I'm european" and views europe as whole, as his home, instead of just one country etc?

But in the UK, we don't elect our Prime Minister either - unless we happen by chance to live in the constituency he is standing in.

Hell - in 2010, we didn't even elect any of the actual parties either. But still, the career politicians went in behind closed doors, made deals, and then came out saying that <50 individuals had decided on who will rule the country.

And they didn't even go back to the voter to then seek a mandate for their decision, and changed the laws of the land to ensure they could not be removed for 5 years.

The EU is so big, and with so many different factions, it is much more difficult - and more expensive - to corrupt than the tiny clique of UK politicians.

Y'all Leave motherfuckers are forgetting why the UK is in the EU to begin with. The UK joined, because after WW2, they thought they'd rise up like a phoenix smelling of rotten teeth and Beefeater, but the economy went to shit, and the UK became more and more insignificant. So they joined up, and it worked, they're now the 5th largest economy. And now they want to leave, go their own way, because it worked so well in the past.

Like the Stones said, you can't always get what you want. Being an integral part of the greatest socio-political union the planet has ever known is actually a high point in British history. We are greater now than we have ever been and together with our partners in our Union we will become greater still. Because of our diversity. >>691141876

david cameron stood for conservative, he won. The forerunner of the party who is elected becomes priminister, what is hard is difficult to understand there?
You will never receive a poll card, an email or a letter asking for your vote on the MEP commissioner of your country or the president of the eu, ever.

A large country is much easier to corrupt, their will be major political tension between competing states unhappy with the laws and deals they are given, anger of upholding failing states (SPAIN, greece) and since they are made up of a gigantic contingency the eu parliament is very poorly understood and hard to grasp by the average person, let alone the thousands of legislation and policies they have on everything around us. A tiny government is easy to read and easily transparent, and complex one made up of very culturally inflicting governments, jointly ruled by unelected leaders is the definition of corruption.

If you cannot see this, i dont know what shed of information could make you understand any better.

The EU doesnt even need to rig, it cant be exposed, its protected by the fact we dont have a say on its government in the first place. It was clear that cameron and conservative would win after everyone was pissed off with labour for the last 15 years.

You cannot vote for the MEP who enters the eu commission where the laws are made, the MEPs in the eu coalition have no say, they are merely spectators to laws and legislation passed.

I never once said you cannot vote for cameron, i said you can vote for the party and their represented leader who is usually the governing face of your choice, will be put into power, cameron had been there since 2005.

What are you struggling to understand? Do you maybe have dyslexia, or are you just playing dumb?

I really want that Britain leaves EU so it will proves to the world it's a bad idea
And here in France we will don't have to hold all the migrants anymore to avoid that they go to your country

That's the last I heard about Scotland's secession, that the vote didn't pass. Would it really be that detrimental to y'alls economy if either of those countries were finally able to leave? Are you guys supporting them or are they supporting you?

You really think all those companies are going to jump out of the UK....!?, you really are an idiot, do you really think it would happen that fast!?, do you really not think HM Gov hasn't made contingency plans, the political class will not allow the UK to sink because they have too much invested in it staying afloat.

You really are a one dimensional thinker.
>>
>>691145635

I don't think it'll be that tight, wider margin than the Scots referendum anyway.

Germany who relies on the UK for its biggest importer and trade partner will not impose taxes and possibly lose huge financial gains. The international banks also have banks in all nations bar north korea and iran and those nations are in debt to them, the eu relying on their bailouts and hand outs will not impose tax on them, since they run the world essentially, dont be naive.

>>691145084
oh the fact that the EU buys votes by funding club houses of the fishermen to do trade, yet bans them from fishing in their local waters and allows fish from countries with lower labor costs flood the market, they are keeping dead industries alive just to keep support, its completely false. They let butter and flour rot to stop a surplus of food lowering food price market, which would of cost millions for the businesses and share owners of those markets, that is a disgusting use of power and false market manipulation.

the media is funded by the government, not everyone is aware it is the slowest growing super economy, bric, usa, japan oceana, middle east are far richer.

>>691145715
I don't know what you got up to, but I elected an MEP when I had the opportunity to vote.

The MEPs help to put in place the regulations and frameworks, which are enacted by the commission.

Exactly the same as how the final say on UK laws is from the unelected, partial-theocracy of the House of Lords.

I heard that staying means you'd share a border with Syria, since Turkey kind of weaseled into the Union. How did you guys let that happen? How do your politicians see that shitshow happening, and just let them right into the union anyways? Didn't they just extort 3 billion euros from y'all too?

you know how that sounds, right?

hope the brits leave the eu. so fucking annoying, they always got special deals for them and still they were always complaining.

so just leave.

EU is the wealthiest trading bloc on the planet. Its smaller percentage increase in growth results in a higher net gain, but the gap is naturally closing: nobody really believes in eternal, uninterrupted growth.

I see what you did there.

To any Britbongs.

Take this, probably last chance to leave the sinking ship, you're already on the lifeboat, you lucky island nation you. Your country is among the few that can do it and come out better in the long run. You can't change crud from within, the MEPs are in too much debt to their employer, the EU.

While us, eastern eu countries do benefit from the whole deal, that won't last forever either, as the funds currently pumped into the region for "bringing it up to speed" are wasted on useless showoff projects, or flushed down the drain of endless bureocratic process and open corruption. I want my country to have a better standard of living, but only if it happens by elevating ours, not pulling down yours.

See you on the other side. Hungarianbong here, over and out.

Leave has a 2/3rd lead. If the final national results don't follow a similar patten then something VERY suspicious has happened in the polling booths.

The state of mind of Anons, especially ones who browse /pol/, is very very different to the state of mind of the average voter.

It is. It's caused largely by spakkers on both sides deciding that the fact pencils were provided in the polling booths was evidence that MI5/FSB/Deuxieme some other agency would "change" their vote.

There really are a LOT of mongs out there.

Leave is the only real choice. There are some advantages to staying, however, doing so will result in everyone's national identity being eroded away. If you want to be a citizen of Europe, then vote to stay, if you want to live in a proud and independent UK, it must be without the EU.
>>
>>691145893
nah but what's really going to happen is:
the uk gets the same deal norway and switzerland have.
free trade in exchange for making most eu laws into national law. but without a word to say about it. basically everything the uk hates, but worse.

The royal family has a shit load of land that they allow the government to use and generate profit.
this amounts to roughly £200 mil per year, in return for a fix annual 'salary' of £40mil.
Then you through in the all the grants tourism and and royal branding etc. etc. and you come to around £1.155 BILLION revenue add to the economy (this is 2015 figures)
so they have their value.

also i voted to leave, i believe it will be better in the long run for growth.

actually, the MEP's vote for a common MEP to stand in the commission, the commission a given proposed laws by the presidents, and propose their own and must all agree on them in a majority. So seeing how culturally different these nations are, with their own needs and social and economical requirements, how is it sane to treat them all the same? You didnt get to vote for what MEP you wanted in the inner european commission(unless by change the particular one u liked got voted in by the others) and you didnt not get to vote on the presidents who are the final voice of these laws and legislations, so no it is not exactly the same, since the president is supposed to be a representative of, say, our own primeminister, the only difference is, we choose and vote for him directly and his MPs.

>>691146731
we will get told if this happens and we will protest.

>>691146739
its the wealthiest trading bloc because every other nation works of the worlds common economic standard, not much competition there for the EU trading bloc and other trading blocks.

Its net gain and export is tiny compared to the rest of the worlds nations, its actually laughable how small we are compared to japan, china, usa, brazil, switzerland, australia.

The higher net gain is no good representative when we have failing states like spain and greece and unemployment and refugee crisis' to fork out for constantly. Its a few holding up the many and we all have to suffer due to this.

>>691147575
ah yes, call me an American as some kind of insult as you hand your rights over, laugh at me if you will. Arent we constantly lectured in schools how important it is, and how our men died fighting wars to uphold this virtue?
