If you have multiple skill sets, you're better off.

Maintenance of any sort. Property, facility, machinery, millwright, etc.

If you want an easy trade, do communication technician. You install all the data cable (cat6, fibre) and run patch cords from the rack to the switches in comms rooms 90% of the time. You do a ton of walking around testing and terminating cable which is a breeze. There's the occasional pain in the ass pull, but I've found all the crews I've worked with are pretty cool and help the time pass. I work in Calgary btw.

That depends. Which is most important to you, quick money or upward mobility?

I see good trade options as a spectrum between both those things. On the quick money end your best bet is welding. 2 years of school, and if you don't suck and get your certs, you're making $50,000 right off the bat, no problem--but you can't go much higher than that. Next are most mechanical trades--not as much money to start, but if you learn electronics, transmissions, or some other complex niche the money's very good a few years down the road. After that, look at computers. Very low starting pay and a lot of competition in most IT-related fields, but a whole shit ton of upward mobility if you learn to be a sysadmin or lead a development team or something, and you do good work and get promoted. Last are the sciences and medicine. A shit ton of school, a shit ton of competition, and hundreds of thousands in debt, but once you're done you have the potential to be making six figures easily.

Literally don't even consider any career other than the ones I've listed, unless you have a personal passion for it.

Oh, and sell weed on the side. I'm not kidding. Don't sell anything else though.
