It was between this and ME2, but this one was waaayyy more emotional and had better storytelling. ME2 had a better character cast in my eyes, Thane, Legion, and Grunt were my main nigros. But ME3 was much more emotional. The whole Genophage line was fantastic. As was taking back the Quarian homeworld. (Especially so since Legion is my second favorite character after Thane, and Tali was my love interest) Along witb the prayer for Shepherd when Thane died. I'm not even gonna lie that my vision got a little blurry when Legion asked "Tali'Zorah, does this unit....have a soul?", Mordin singing "Scientist Salarian", and Thane dying as Kolyat said a prayer for me and him.

I agree with your points. However, I was with Liara and used her on every possible mission in the hopes that there'd be some kind of satisfying conclusion to the romance arc. There wasn't. She gets emotional on the final suicide mission when she ditches Shephard towards the end, and a little during the Leviathan DLC but it's barely a thing.

We all know the ending was terrible and made most of your choices over the last 2 games pointless.

So because of that, I have to give it to ME2 for having a great intro and overall great story even though it was a bit annoying convincing everyone that Reapers exist despite the ample evidence.

Just played that. Baldurs Gate 2 is my favorite game of all time and this gives it a close challenge. I instantly replayed after beating it. That's a sure sign of a good game. I was so excited for Pillars of Eternity but it was a bit of a disappointment. It was good but it had issues that turned me off of replaying it. Mainly the classes weren't balanced and the combat was repetitive. And the spell effects were meh. Like, a psionic you think would have insane effects but they were generic at best.

Only problem with Liara is she will 100% outlive you for a hundred+ years. She can literally mind fuck you well into your old age so even if your body turns to shit, it's all good son.

I played a Sentinel (inb4 easy mode) so I more or less had biotics covered on my own. Didn't need Thane/Jack so much. Went with Garrus and Zhaeed/Tali depending on circumstances. Generally preferred Garrus+Tali mainly because I like characters with history from ME1.
Miranda's a bitch. Morinth/Samara are just Liara stand-ins. Grunt's boring. Kasumi is waifu bait and doesn't have enough interesting dialogue.

Legion's neat. But I never really used him.

I always do stupid combos in games where they'll let me, just to stress test the "RPGness" of it. For me a true RPG doesn't railroad you into certain choices or weapon/armor combos. So I played a dual wielding Massive armor warrior elf. It worked and looked badass as fuck. Skyrim I played heavy armor Archer, that didn't work so much. I'm just saying even though DA suggests rogue leather for dual wield, I made it work with dual wielding warrior. Or suggests massive armor for tanking, it didn't completely hinder my ability to dual wield.

Glass or elven armors are about the heaviest you could go with that would actually be practical. Leather is about as far as you could go if you were trying to be a purist.

Tali is really childlike. I still couldn't bring myself to betray her on her homeworld though. Especially after the talk of settling down with her there with the romance option. My main character was the stealth one (forgot what its called). Legion is basically Thane with an Assault rifle and slightly less bitotics. He was still awesome though. I realize I've already said it, but they really fucked up with squadmates in ME3. Legion should've been an option when you make peace with the Geth and Quarians. I understand why they killed off like half of the old squad, but it doesn't mean I have to like it. Also, what were your thoughts on Mordin? I thought he had some of the best character design in the game, but he's just bad at combat. I really regret not spending time with him in ME2 though. Considering what happened on Tuchanka in ME3.

Sucks you can't save his life without fucking over Wrex and his race. ME3 was really lacking in decent choice to reflect your gameplay. Seriously, what happened to the Rachni and Leviathan? Never even see them in the end fight. They're just represented as numbers along with absolutely everything else you've ever done.
Still, I commend the series for even trying to link different decisions over the games.
Nothing else has really tried that except for TellTale games, but they're more of an interactive movie than an actual game.

And that's where the sentinel class armor REALLY comes in handy. Saved my life a billion times. They nerfed it in ME3.

I agree. They could've done more work, but I'm satisfied with the game more or less. I feel like Thane and Mordin's deaths were well written, as they pay back sins of their pasts. Nothing has felt better in this game than killing that chink faggot Kai Leng and hearing Shepard dedicate the kill to Thane and Miranda. I personally liked the plot point of the guy from ME1 dying in Thane's plqce if you saved him, though. Was a good choice. If Andromeda doesn't feature Garrus and/or Tali (even though they died charging Harbinger) I'm going to be upset. Coming across an older Tali on her homeworld with a picture of Shepard by her bed would be a nice touch if they romanced. I'm probably gonna replay ME3 though and make sure I bring EDI and some other character I don't care about for the final mission. That way Tali and Garrus are guaranteed to survive if I talk to them enough.

Why didn't Tali and Garrus survive for you? I didn't do the final bits till everyone's loyalties were finished and I was definitely over the threshold for the best possible ending (without the multiplayer bullshit - I had a pirated copy so no MP). You should have learned from ME2.

I wouldn't bet on Andromeda dishing out any fan service. Liara could potentially be there because she'll still be alive as some kind of Promethean expert or whatever. Javik will probably be absent though. He sort of didn't belong at all and they didn't try too hard to make people surprised at his existence in ME3 despite how hugely important most people would consider him as the only surviving member of that hugely influential race.

If you didn't have enough EMS and had the Extended Cut it's implied that the two you took with you died. If you had enough EMS and the Extended Cut, a shuttle flies down and pucks them up, and if yiur romanced squadmate is there they say goodbye, be careful, etc. November sometime, I think. Also, did the Shuttle Pilot die for you? The gay guy named Cortez or whatever? I heard he can live but he crashed after before I killed Morinth in the final mission.

Aragon was a member of the Dúnedain. They lived till roughly 180 years and collectively were eventually known as the "rangers of the north". Implying of course that they were rangers. Except WITHOUT the magic.
No one really uses magic in LotR except for genuine wizards and occasionally elves.

I definitely had the shuttle come down for my 2 squaddies. Preeeetty sure the pilot didn't die but he's forgettable enough that I probably can't remember. I'm sure I got the best possible ending though. Short of Mordin and Thane (who dies no matter what you do because he's sick) dying of course.

I just dealt with a generic asari banshee instead of Morinth as I sided with Samara in ME2. I went with Paragon for my "canon" play and only went renegade on my second run. Didn't play ME3 more than once though. The ending didn't really make me want to try anything different.

I went for Synthesis ending. Made the most sense to me. People say that having organics and inorganics fuse against everyone's will is unethical, but fuck it. The conclusion slides basically say that everyone's happy. Especially the Geth and Quarians (who no longer need their environmental suits!). Synthesis creates a new status quo.
The other 2 endings just kinda...suck. The next game will definitely not go with synthesis as a canon ending though. No way. It'll go with destruction or whatever. The one where Shepard seems to breathe at the end which is MONUMENTALLY STUPID. But whatevz. Shephard = money.

Wait, did you have to side with Samara to not get Morinth? I sided with Samara, did her loyalty mission, did the mission in ME3 with her, and talked her out of suicide, but I swear I got Morinth instead of a normal banshee.

She should ONLY turn up in ME3 if you sided with her in ME2 OR if you just played ME3 with the default previous choices which usually aren't great. I think there was an interactive comic you have to use to confirm your choices from the previous game? Maybe you didn't load up your ME2 save into ME3? I don't know.

Having said that, I haven't played ME3 in AGES. So I could be wrong. Maybe she turns up in ME3 regardless as a banshee. You make it sound that way if Samara was still alive.

I am fully confident that I loaded my ME2 save into ME3, as all of the people from ME2 get replaced if you don't. I haven't the slightest idea how that happened. Maybe the game glitched and gave me Morinth instead of a normal Banshee. They're the same thing anyway, Morinth just has a name.

I'm not feeling very optimistic about the sequel. So far, it just looks like DLC without Shepard. And I really hope the new main character doesn't sort of turn into someone like Shepard. That's old. Let's see a new dynamic.
