Now the reason why is generally assumed to be socioeconomic, however even in areas where there are poor (insert ant other race) and richer blacks, the crime rates aren't lower for the blacks and are instead equal with the other races. So what it boils down to is a lack of father.

Single mothers tend to treat their kids in one of two ways:

In, say, the Hispanic community, poverty strengthens family, so it's hard to get away from race specifics when talking about absentee father's in the black (only American blacks, mind you, Africa is the reverse).

Anyway, due to a lack a father that is the guiding figure, protector, discipliner, etc. The kid seeks out someone or something to fill that gap. In this case, most roads are bad. He can join a gang which will fulfill all of those needs, try to do it himself which will cause him to overuse violence (because he will Maladapt violent responses due to a lack of family protector), he will chose a school authority who has no time and will generally blame big bad whity for it, or he can go the religious route and become a zealot, which often times brings us bad angry preachers would continue the circle.
And everyone is doing it around them, the circle is hard to break

White people are the biggest user of drugs but blacks are jailed for it. There's an obvious racial bias here. Possession is a crime that every drug user has to commit, but only blacks are being locked up for it. Justice is not blind at all.

It's not news that certain crimes (eg. drug related shit, even pot use) are punished too harshly. Even if those crimes might not be more common with black people, there's a bias that suggests so. Other aspects of law, eg. the three strikes bullshit, also have an effect.
Last but certainly not least, those fucking plea bargains. Dude, this shit is so fucked up, I don't even know where to start. Public defenders are overloaded with work, so are the courts. There are a lot of cases where plea bargains are struck because the chance of an actual conviction are too high, even if the defendant is innocent. Look this shit up. These things usually hurt people who are economically weak, and that's another problem.
