I guess my obsessiveness over really getting to know someone before attempting stuff like that just isn't meant for most people. It'd be neat if I happened to meet someone just like me that did that too, and we approached each other at roughly the same time we're ready, but that's dream talk.

Sadly not. After I eventually came around to telling them I was interested in them to start a relationship, they backed out, and our friendships mostly dissipated after that.

I don't get it. These are people that would obsessively text me nearly 24/7, sharing their darkest secrets and personal lives with me, and we'd both hugbox our own personal stories and cry on each other's shoulders. It's just like, what the fuck? It's not like I do that with just anyone, did they not see the signs at any point during the months I spent building our friendships and getting to know them?

It's not like I was suddenly "hey I'm interested in you let's fuck" I tested the waters throughout, dropped hints more obvious than the definition of flirting, and got positive responses, but come to eventually and all completely flipped on me. Don't know where I went wrong.
