I love space and astronomy so much, but I was born a poorfag, so ill never be apart of NASA or be a professor in the field, and i guess thats okay, i can still read about it and study it my whole life.

But how do i cope with the fact that i will not be a part of the generation that travels to other star systems?

Or even apart of the generation that dicovers other inhabited worlds or even colonizes other planets or moons.

Just remember that there are dimensions here on earth that we still have yet to understand and cross into i.e. the spirit realm where ghosts come out of from time to time.

Lots is to be studied and known before we go outside earth.

Honestly it makes me sad, feel like I've been born in a time where exploration is near impossible. Wish I'd been born either way in the past or way in the future.

the military industrial complex/illuminati/bilderburgs/jews/rothschilds/etc have all had "anti-grav" ships since the 60s. they wont be in power much longer. we will see free energy, antigrav, and interstellar travel within our lifetime.

what is SETI@home?
>>
>>683270716
>SETI@home is an Internet-based public volunteer computing project employing the BOINC software platform, hosted by the Space Sciences Laboratory, at the University of California, Berkeley, in the United States. Its purpose is to analyze radio signals, searching for signs of extraterrestrial intelligence, and as such is one of many activities undertaken as part of the worldwide SETI effort.

now...
>get dressed up

>clean shave
>fresh breath
>walk around town looking for work
>even a burger joint

EVERY FUCKING TIME

and because its so easy to post an application online then it means that there could literally be thousands of applicants for employers to weed through.

And do you think they do that? honeslty? FUCK NO.

They will let them stack up and hire the next big titted bimbo that walks throught the door.

I have wasted so much time because of how getting a job is now, even JUST GETTING NOTICED is hard.

And yes, iv applied at McDonalds and Burger King a hundred time and never once got a call back

Our only hope is they create a way to upload our consciousness to some sort of digital media or infrastructure so that we may live forever.

It truly is upsetting that I will never get to experience being on another planet.

Looking back at the 1900's I see how technologically behind that era was compared to now. I simply can't imagine how we will look compared to 2100. And I won't even be able to witness it. :(

Hi OP, I'm an actual astronomer/astrophysicist that has worked for NASA in the past. The truth is, we aren't going to other star systems any time soon. We'll be lucky if we even get to Mars in our lifetimes.

The general public responsible for electing our politicians just don't see the value in space exploration anymore. Every time someone comes up with a cool idea it inevitably gets abandoned because it costs too much, or we have to cripple the original idea because the government doesn't want to pay for it. Just ask people you know - most people will say "why are we spending a few billion dolalrs on this new telescope when we could feed the poor instead?", not realizing that the sapce program's budget is a miniscule fraction of the total government budget.

Just siphon even 5% of the military's budget into space research and we'd all be amazed at what we can accomplish. But it'll never happen because most people consider the pursuit of knowledge just a hobby nowadays and only ideas that make money are important for society to pursue.

HS diploma.

That's helpful -- and thanks -- but my biggest source of apprehension still remains:

I'm fucking shit at math. And most science degrees, especially something like fucking astrophysics, is going to require I take some pretty high-up math courses.

I've tried so many different options throughout my life to git gud at math. Paid tutoring, online resources, everything. It doesn't make sense, and seldom does. I have even forgotten what 5 + 5 was at one point, and if you give me a simple addition problem it may take me awhile before I can confidently answer it, without using a calculator. HS math courses were hell, and a constant source of anxiety. There is no way I'm going to pursue astronomy as a career. Maybe I could just intern for SpaceX or something.

she's even worse than them
it's okay though, she works at a daycare and gets to take care of babies, which is something she loves to do
bonus: working at a daycare made her not want kids of her own, so i never have to deal with children

Maybe, but I'm not sure because I have gotten better. Freshman year of HS I couldn't solve simple algebraic equations (something like 5x = 10), but I can now (with a calculator).

I think about this every night when I'm lying in bed reading about the latest updates in space exploration, staring at new photos captured by telescopes. The over whelming sense of sadness it brings to my life that I'll never be able to visit another planet is almost enough to make me give up on living.

Maybe I'll get lucky and win the lottery someday and be able to book a commercialized trip into space once they're around.

Op here, we are one in the same.

I never graduated because i could " get math "
I cant count or visualize it like some people can, some people are mathematical and some of us are artistic.

I cant even do basic algebra, i remember my teacher used to get so fed up with me, she even personally tutored me on how to do long division, i couldnt get it, so she gave up on me.

i was gonna say math is just like anything else, it takes practice and work to get good at..

but damn maybe you have some sort of learning disability in that area or something

>I never graduated because i could " get math "

I thought you dropped out to help feed your family. Now it's because you can't "get math"?

it was a multiple of things, I wasnt going to make it to 11 grade because of my math skills, so i said fuck it and dropped out to better my family, we were pretty poor back then.

You are an excuse filled, lying failure who cannot take responsibility for your own mistakes and shortcomings. Until you can take that responsibility, you will continue to fall short of the things you want out of life. Face the truth and do what it takes to change it.

You could stay inside and look at your erect penis at home m8.

>if you think it's because they only hire "big-titted bimbos" then you have never looked behind the counter at any fast food place, because they are often populated with some of the ugliest humans to ever walk the face of the earth

And sometimes you can find beauty like Andreja Pejic.

Uhh, I don't think that would help me.

Definitely have had similar experiences. My mother helped me through Sophomore year geometry all the way through, but her help was more like screaming at me and getting pissed at me until I said it made sense. That was a really bad year.

Have you ever had this shit where you're looking at numbers, and they just don't even look like numbers -- just weird fucking symbols, and it's damn near impossible for you to hold what all of them represent at once?

You can be an amateur astronomer or take classes at a community colleges if you're poor. Financial aid will cover it if you live in the USA. Once you're in college you can get more information and connections to help better your education. Don't think that because you're poor you can't go to college and educate yourself. Go speak to an advisor and inquire about financial aid. There is no excuse to not go. The

There are all sorts of astronomy clubs around the USA and around the world as well. All you need is a telescope and they aren't THAT expensive. Save twenty bucks a day or a month and you could buy a decent telescope in about a year.

to be honest being an astronomer was my dream when I was a kid.

used to be that guy who knows a lot of science trivia, reads science mags, and always the representative on inter-school quiz bees.

Now I don't believe in science that much anymore. I mean how the fuck do they even know the composition of Sun if no tech out there can reach it?

They're hiding something and my inner intuition is violently screaming that something is wrong. They removed God, denied the Genesis and made fun of it and derogatorily marked the term "Flat Earth"

Unless NASA can prove to me that moon landing is real then I'd gladly volunteer on the one way ticket to Mars.

NASA is created by the Masons to control information.

I don't get why everyone is bashing OP and saying he's making excuses. I'm sure most of you saying that already have well paying jobs. OP is starting from nothing. I've been in his position, spending 8 hours a day trying to find a job. EVERY place these days tells you to apply online. And OP is RIGHT that of course there no going to fucking weed thru the pile. The hire people when they want to, and that's final. They don't go back and think "Hm that man that applied 3 weeks had potential for this position" If OPs sugar mama won't even buy him a fucking car or help him out, he's at a loss.

The fuck are you going on about?

I brought myself out of poverty once before, yeah im down on my luck now but things will change.

Good for you that a course of events laid itself out perfectly for you.

facts are facts, some people are just received more opportunities than others.

For example, my brother and I have different dads but same mother, his dad's family came from money, they put him through school and now he is way high up in a distribution center, has a construction company and is putting himself throught school to learn to make software.

And he's fucking handsome and intelligent, fucking sucks ASS, me and the other brothers ( there are 5 of us ) often tease him and call Him Robert the demi god.

If he were alive back in ancient Greece they would have built a statue of him.

>>683284623
yes, yes i have. Numbers being a man made invention never made sense to me. Nature makes more sense to me than that shit.

Thanks bro, and its not like i havent tried, i still try.

Im just in the middle ground where nobody wants to hire a 27 year old dropout, and im too old to work at fucking McDonalds, you should see the looks I get when i apply for those places.

I should be laying floors and doing manly work, im good with my hands, not good with people.
