I'd argue that in 2016, every forum suffers from the same problem. Reddit and Tumblr are just as uninspired as 4chan, for example, even though the core content is obviously different. I'm pretty jaded, but I come back out of complacency and out of habit. I'm sure there's a lot of lurkers out there who are in the same boat: too tired or too disillusioned to continue posting. The rest who do post strike me as... idealistic? Maybe they think people actually care what they have to say?

On the other hand, when you get down into the nooks, you can still find some gems: the most obvious example being porn I guess. I also like ironic/unironic shitposting, but I can get that basically anywhere now. I guess that's where habit comes back into play.

Anyway sorry for blowing you off, I hope you enjoy this little slice of my personality. Maybe it'll give you some extra insight into your question.

here's the thing,
in an effort to "make /b/ great again" which is basically a fucking meme that has been going on from the beginning

I First visited the chans seven years ago. I don't really pay attention to posts unless it's a baw thread or an honest discussion about something I know about. I mostly lurk the ylyl threads. They're pretty bad but lately the stupid stuff from tumblr or funnyjunk legitimately catches me off guard, and sometimes the stuff they use to try to derail the thread deserves a chuckle. I come here because I don't know where else to go on the internet. YouTube is okay but I don't really know what to watch and don't enjoy it. At least here there's a fun roll thread every now and then. I'm not here long enough for it to become unbearably stale and it remains an okay passtime. But hey, this is coming from a guy who unironically enjoyed Zootopia so my tastes are probably questionable.
I visit some of the other boards from time to time. This site is far from dead and nothing is killing it, at least for me.
And no I don't want to fuck the bunny. I'm kind of a normie, and I'm kinda glad that label came about. That's another reason this site can be cool, you learn the hip lingo and can occasionally relate to random people irl. And sometimes I feel the lingo actually has linguistic value and makes ideas clearer. It's great to be able to think "what a cuck." How else could you say that?
I think filters and id's Should make a comeback, that'll make everything better

I think that b used to be a outlet for alot of people. Theres not a certain kind of person who visits b. I think that rule has changed recently and im sorry but i dont really like that, becuase i think the people who visited b back then when you could genaralize the people who went to b were either deep down a person who hasnt seen the best of life, who needed a way to release a luagh or two becuase they didnt have the humar of a normal society. I used to use b just to talk to people and tell them about my day and just chat with them, even though there was a big sense of anominity, but i also used to come here just to make myself luagh and distract myself from the pain,sadness,or stress of my society. And the people i came across back then seemed like they were here for the same reasons. Which in turn gave everyone something in common.

I just come here because /b/ is cheaper than Heroin. Both isn't really good for me, both won't bring me far in life, both are frowned upon by society but at least /b/ makes me giggle sometimes without killing me in the process.
