place them inside of a hollowed out aerosol can with a hole drilled in the side for the lens and the bottom for the mount
the cam sits on a 1/4-20 tripod attachment, attached to a 1/4--20x 2" bolt run through the bottom of the can and with the head sanded down to a rounded end so as to not look terribly obvious a coupling nut and various 1/4-20 all-thread rod gives me adjustable positions

i made two indexing marks to ensure the camera lens alignment relative to the hole in the can itself.

tips: you want to put the hole in an already darkened and discreet location. choosing the eye is actually kind of ironic in a way, but it was the ideal spot to have the peep hole.
