I love the story and development of being the Slayer of Demons in Demon's Souls. Not sure if this counts as it's a character that you create and define by yourself from the ground up, (which i personally think is the best kind of protagonist in an rpg) but this game is arguably the best gameplay focused, multiplayer rpg I've ever played. Even to this day after Dark Souls and Bloodborne, Demon's Souls still takes the cake for me. Its such a brutal, intense rite of passage for a gamer to undertake, but you truly feel powerful when you've mastered the game and start shitting on people in PvP with your OP steamroll build.
