Having a chance to go around the normal social rules, and express some good old cave-man displeasure with rock and muscle, is a vent for all those feelings.
Yes, in some cases this is worrying as hell, but people who are going to commit ACTUAL violence to humans and animals are going to do it regardless, with media and such only able to color their actions, not create them. For the vast majority, seeing an annoyance being dealt with in the violent, yet effective old ways can act as an ointment to a frustrated ego.
Is fluffy abuse good therapy? no, not really...but everyone has some way to vent the counter-civilization urges we all get from time to time. if a few lines and drops of color help someone feel better about getting bitched out by their 4'9" mini Mussolini of a HR director, then all the bloody better.
