Former social reject here, to beat that obstacle you have to find like minded people. There are like minded people, just something as simple as liking the same tv show can start a friendship. If you see someone who has the same interest as you, just start a conversation about that interest.
If that person actually likes the subject, and you aren't an asshole, they will want to talk about it with you.
From there it will only get easier to approach that person, but remember it is hard as humans to hate people who share the same interest.

All my friends are having a party without me at the moment. Honestly, I often feel lonely, but I've never felt more lonely than I do right now; I have absolutely no one to talk to. I'll probably just get really drunk until I pass out.

Man. I've felt the exact same way for years, it was bad all the time. Now, a few months ago, I met a girl who lives 500 kilometres away, which is a friend of a 'friend' of mine. We got along very fucking well and we skyped almost every day. She was interested in me and made me feel like I was worth something, what nobody else could do. She herself was very self unconcious and she told me so often that I made her strong and willing to not give up on life. We eventually met and now we're a happy couple for a few months, looking to move there but we can't afford it yet (Berlin is an expensive city, yes, germanfag here).
What I am trying to say that no matter how bad it seems, whatever you're doing, better times will come and you will meet the person changing your life, trust me. You sound like a great and caring person.
