I'm not tournament-level, I just love to play the game. I've got three decks right now - a Dark Necrophia, Ghostrick, and Melodious. The Melodious deck is really the only one that's any good.

Again, not tournament quality obviously, but the way it plays is just crazy fun. Ghostrick is a fun troll deck.

Can anyone recommend a good "locals" deck, my friends have a big gathering every Friday night and my cards where stolen so I haven't kept up in about 6 months. Nothing like kozmos or BA tho

Me, I got back into the game after stopping at GX's start that King of Skull Servants is my bro. I love the unexpected 7k beatstick in a couple turns if I get lucky and my cards play right. It might be worthwhile to start learning the game via older video games (Ex: Gameboy Advance, DS, PSP, etc etc) so you can learn the gameplay. There's free programs like Dueling Network / YuGiOh Pro that're out, but the AI for that is super fast if you're playing against it. It'll go "OKAY SO ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE I PLAY X Y AND Z AND MY HAND'S GONE AND MY FIELD IS FULL GET YOUR ASS READY TO GO" as you try to understand what just happened. You need to gently ease your way into modern mechanics, because they'll be a bit confusing with no prior knowledge.

I played Ghostricks for a while, my main winning condition was get Skeleton on the field and banish the opponent's deck. It was really nice to do but it got boring after some time. So many turns to do that and not always happening.
