Getting off coal and oil and to Thorium reactors and using electric cars would seem like the most logical step but oddly enough, not eating beef (or animals in general) is the best bet. The biggest factor from my perspective is the ongoing growth of population. I am by no means a scientist in that field but at the same time i dont feel like it requires a scientist to see the correlation between the amount of people on this planet and the destruction of our environment. However, it is not the first world that causes this 'problem' but rather the shit tier countries - that probably wont limit birth rate.

Other than that, the biggest problem is the lack of international collaboration. Countries try to solve the problem on a national stage. Especially us european countries always talk about how we should work together but nothing ever happens.

The global warming issue has to be treated in an economic matter. Money has to be spent where the return on investment is the greatest. It is a honorable move that my country (Germany) is actively trying to get rid of coal plants - but the same money could be used elsewhere on this planet and result in much higher CO2 savings. Part of the problem is probably that the government would have a hard time, justifying the ebb of capital.

The icecap expert was to say that they see no real difference in the variation in coverage and was actually part of the Maunder minimum cycle of our sun.
