You're not wrong, but the overwhelming majority of home defense scenarios happen withing about 20 feet. That's accurate hipfire range if your at all practiced, and if you have a weapon light that's more or less bore sighted you just center Jamal in the light and boom. at those ranges if there's even the slightest chance the other guy has a gun you don't wanna take the time to develop a proper sight picture, you just wanna blind him assess threat and if necessary, neutralize. Accuracy is a concern for operators, fuds and people at gun ranges, what you care about in your house is stopping power, pointability and not getting caught on door frames.

but that's my point, in the "home defense" situation the guys either right outside your house or inside you house across the room/down the hall. I'm the most casual of shooters and I can reliably point and shoot my cruiser out to about 30 feet dark or light flashlight or no, its about practicing with your hand cannon until you can point it and know exactly where the lead is gonna go.

I am agreeing with what you are saying, but personally I dislike pistol grips. I prefer the m4 over the m16, and I do not like sbr/sbs at all I prefer the polymer 'wonder guns' because that is what I feel most effective with. I mean sure I will pick up anything at the range and can appreciate it, I just know what works for me. This is sort of like the caliber debate, my opinion is you have to find what works for you. I was trained and am familiar with the m4, so that is what I prefer.
