They're all contrived, since they're made for kids. That is also true for a lot of non-animated films, but in general, animated films are more likely to be contrived garbage, because they are for kids. They shouldn't get a free pass just because they're for kids.

RE2 was my very first experience with the series back when I was 13/14. It was the cartridge version on N64, I remember playing it when we lived in a rural area. Nicer to play those kind of things with the dead of night and silence all around you.
