Most of the DLC in 3 felt kinda gimicky and lacking. But I suppose that could just be in comparison to how much they put into the NV ones.

Fallout 3 was fun. The DLC was enjoyable as well. But when New Vegas came out, FO3 became obsolete.
Literally everything was better in F:NV. And the DLC for F:NV just improved upon an already amazing game.
It's not that I dislike FO3, but it hasn't aged well and when compared to its successor there's hardly any reason to play it anymore.
