Ohms is the only thing you got right but it's it (and everything I've listed) is a grossly oversimplified definition.

The applied function of Ohms law is to measure the resistence of electrons in a given media so the correct media can be found and used for a specific purpose so that the media does not overheat.
Let's say 12 v. If you use too small a gauge of wire in a 12 v application the ohms resistence will cause the wire to overheat and burn.
Use the correct guage wire in that application and you won't have that problem.
