As much as I hate to post anything in a 'horse cock thread'... Artificial insemination is quite common with equine. The output from each 'load' is enough to sire dozens of offspring. Additionally, it eliminates the need to actually bring the stallion and the mare together. So they put a condom on the stallion, and capture the semen. It can be safely shipped to where ever it is needed, and the mares can be inseminated.

Generally no (though there is some manipulation during setup). Some places just put on the rubber and give the stallion a mare. Most bigger facilities use a 'breeding mount'. Its basically a fleshlight on top of a post for the stallion. The first few times it takes them a while to figure it out, but afterwards, you just bring them in to the room and they know whats up.
