Besides, learning a front end JS framework and some Bootstrap is easy. Or picking up Python, Ruby, or PHP for back end work. I'm just saying, if he wants job opportunities and decent money, it's easy to do in the web dev world.

No matter what you do though, you should look to be the best you can at it. Don't half ass shit. There are a lot of terrible web devs, and learning to do it properly will not only put you ahead of the rest of them, but does not require that much more complexity.

Well I think we might be saying the same thing, in all honesty. I don't think that someone who has spent a week learning Angular deserves a 6 figure salary. You best be doing some damn impressive shit to manage that.

I think we may be getting caught up on the word "easy". When I say it's easy I don't mean quick. A lot of people misinterpret those two, especially in this field. It's not difficult to learn to master AngularJS, or to use Bootstrap by adding your own styles to extend it's default look and feel. But the "quick" methodology tells people to just hack shit together, modify the Bootstrap library itself instead of using build tools like Grunt to actually extend it, which is the entire reason it was built. You can easily learn this shit, but you have to devote time to it. It's more than a weekend's worth of reading and a shitty fucking coding "bootcamp" (for the love of god, don't go near those).

So hopefully we're on the same page. I'm not trying to insinuate that you can read an Angular tutorial and get a 6 figure salary. I'm saying you can start there, devote some time to it, avoid student loans and debt, and rise above those guys who just spent a few days at a coder bootcamp and laugh on the way to the bank.

Regardless, do what you do well, don't half ass it.

I'm trying to work out a bit and cook at home more, I have a bad habit of eating out a lot if I don't have someone to cook for. I've have a newfound appreciation for water as of recently. I was never huge on soda, but I needed something with taste, like orange juice or ice tea. Sure it's not as unhealthy as soda, but it's still sugary. I started cutting back a bit, and now I always have a bottle of water next to my computer, so whenever I'm thirsty I just take a sip of that instead of getting something sweet from the fridge.
As for the coffee and tea, aim for a straight black one once in a while so you slowly get used to the bitterness. Just power through it, I believe.

You know, I honestly hadn't considered a head gasket.

And I'm not positive, it's been a fucking roller coaster with this bike ('97 Kawasaki ZX-11). I bought it as a non-runner, thinking it just needed the carbs cleaned. But I've had nothing but problems. Cleaned the carbs, but the crank case filled with gas at one point. The floats could be bad, I need to pull the carbs again and drop them in some water to see if they float or not.

As for the compression, I'm not positive. I have a really cheap, shitty compression gauge from Harbor Freight. They were all relatively consistent, but too low to actually run, somewhere like 120 psi I think?

I've cleaned the carbs half a dozen times, replaced the fuel pump, new gaskets around the spark plug wells, and I've had the bike down to just the frame and motor more times than I can count. I'm just fed up with it at this point.

There's a local shop that's awesome, they've given me a lot of free advice before so I might take the bike to them to diagnose it. I know how to turn a wrench, but my ability to diagnose problems is very lacking.

Awesome bike though, I love Ducati's. Always wanted a Monster.

Well I could go on for hours about the exact course of events, but the quick and short of it is my monitor is a 1440 monitor, but it was running in 1080. The driver update pushed it to 1440, but the single link cable can't handle anything past 1080, so I would get a "NO SIGNAL" on the monitor. Don't know how that corresponded to the PSU possibly going bad, I've got a power supply tester ordered to know for sure.

But I got it working at the end of the day, just took forever. Reinstalled Windows and *FINALLY* got a proper dual link cable so I can use the damn think in 1440 mode anyways.

Eh, the Kawasaki has kind of a nostalgic feel for me. It's the bike I learned to ride on, it's comfy and whatnot. But yeah, I'd like to get it running and sell it anyways. I really want an adventure bike of some kind (Super Tenere, V-Strom, or maybe even a KLR) so I can go on some moto-camping rides.

I really hope it doesn't have fucked rings. I'll do a head gasket, but if the engine is that fucked it's not worth the money it costs to do a rebuild. Fuck.
