I got 2 songs in mind. This one:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ_yjNeG8hw

and this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AKRA7weVyLs

Also... Pearl Jam. 11/10 OP. Good job.

I live and work within 1 mile of Eddie Vedders house. He comes into my work a couple times a year to buy his daughter various sports equipment.

Cool dude. My hometown is in the same area as his (he's from Evanston, IL) and I currently live a couple miles from where he lived in San Diego before Cornell called him up to Seattle (tbh I like Soundgarden more).
What's some o your favorite songs/albums from PJ?

Nice. I've lived in Seattle my whole life. He's treated like royalty around here. He's the only vocalist to survive the 90s... as well as Pearl Jam as whole survived and are still rocking.

How do people in your area/hometown feel about him?

I love his depressing stuff. Too me, a good vocalist is only good if they can say how you feel. They can put your emotions into words when you have no words for them yourself and Eddie does that perfectly and in so many songs.

Like "Release". "Black". "Immortality".

And "Elderly woman behind the counter in a small town". I love some of the lyrics from that song.

"Don't give up. You got a reason to live".

It's just a simple thing to say, but also very powerful. Why do not many people just say that in their songs?

A lotta the bands still survived, but most of em changed members (Alice in Chains), changed style drastically and were forgotten (Smashing Pumpkins), or just continued to evolve all over the place (Cornell and Soundgarden). Actually, Soundgarden doesn't really identify as grunge like a lotta the others do.

I love No Code, Yield, and Binaural the most.
In my Tree, In Hiding, No Way, Of The Girl, Off He Goes, Low Light, Sleight Of Hand - anything along those lines tends to really get to me.

In Chicago he's pretty well-respected, especially cause he's still really adamant about being Chicagoan. Not a lotta people actively listen to him outside of generation X (older folks usually listen to blues and classic rock, younger folks listen to a lotta post rock and fusion) but everyone knows and admires him at least.
In San Diego very few people actually know him. San Diegans generally have shitty or really narrow music tastes.

I live Pearl Jam but the shit after the 4th album just got weird and not my thing at all. I'd be sad about the loss but they managed not to fuck up and destroy themselves through the 90s live every other good band. So if they wanna do folk music because they have zero fucks to give more power to them. Sometimes not being a sell out means you make shit music, and as long as you don't get pissy about no one wanting to listen to your shitty non sell out music then thats okay.
>>
>>606258347
Yeah I should have been more clear. I meant survived the Seattle grunge movement of the 90s. Cornell is amazing too. Both of their voices have so much range. Powerful.

Nothing much to elaborate. Its just the usual unhappiness I've felt for god knows how long. But mostly because of the fact that the person that I've loved dearly left 5 years ago and haven't recovered since. I really like that particular piece by Mozart because of its poignant innocence. Makes me reflect on the more cheer-some days of my youth.

I watched that shit right when I came out. I was only 7 or 8 years old, but they instantly became my Ma's favorite movies for two reasons: she loves loves loves westerns and samurai movies, and she has had 3 husbands, so a movie about killing one's ex-husband was quite appealing and empowering to her, lol. She also is a huge music buff, so an OST like that of any Tarantino film got her goin much as it gets me goin.

This album is so good, but the composer is so unknown, and none of the musicians seem to be divulged. Nonetheless, Japan puts out some really fuckin' good musicians and composers (ehem, Yoko Kanno and The Seatbelts, granted many of the seatbelts were from NYC, Paris, Morrocco, etc)
