(Royksopp) whoa, hang on, have to be honest.... after all of my years with Royksopp, I have no idea which song is called "Melody A.M."

I feel like it's one of the songs off Melody A.M., first song maybe, but either way this might be a little hard to figure out.

anyway, these guys are geniuses lol. it's a duo! both are great.

>>601181620
Both are French, and they can be linked (Daft Punk more closely than Justice i.m.o.) to the French Touch, the early 2000 current that is probably one of the best things France has brought to music. So yeah, I must say I really like Daft Punk as well. You'll find Cassius, Etienne de Crecy and more recently M83 as big references over there
>>
>>601181927
i actually have no idea what that album was, but i felt the desire to defend my threadmates with my legs as fighting tools. please inform me.

>>601182214
maybe pioneer isnt the right word, legends i guess. looked at as sort of paradigms or something of the sort if that makes sense
>>
>>601183376
pioneers is the right word, he's just a cunt. in my opinion, anyway.
>>
>>601182935
Everybody around me has been blown away by The City. I'm not a huge fan but that's personal preference and I can see the quality of it. Etienne de Crecy is the other end of the spectrum, very metallic, electronic (Binary, for ex.)
Cassius is more of an emblem, very colourful, founding father of the French touch sort of, if I remember correctly. Not many songs though.

Try Ed Banger records if you like that kind of music and don't know it

"greater than" meaning "implying," "implying engineers" was a cunty thing to say. i'll be damned if Daft Punk did not inspire millions. They fuckin did. :D
>>
>>601184332
correct, I am calling that guy a cunt. I'm sure he's not in this thread anymore. but, damn... what a cunt. what a cunty cunty cunt. cunt. cuuuunt. cunt. vagina.

both of you, you people are amazing. thank you so much.

GK - Little Learners is great, and this Edit is great too.
>>
>>601184332
>>601184538

Not me. There's always an artist before another artist, sometimes many in the shadow of one. The fact they probably stole the thunder of some other dudes doesn't prevent me from liking them though. Copycats eeeverywhere (remember the Beatles and the Yardbirds)
>>
>>601184538
>>601185183
Now I'd actually happy to find out whom they outrageously copied from. Must be good music
>>
>>601185671
hahaha. yeah, yeah same. pretty lights fuckin rules by the way! did you know they are doing this outrageous live band shit nowadays? putting on fantastic shows with full orchestras. a lot of it is going on in Colorado.

thats why i said pioneer might not be the perfect word although id still say it fits. even if they didnt invent their styles out of the blue, they are the ones that stand above the rest and theres a reason for that

>>601185671
another great album but id have to say his first is the best
>>
bump D:
>>
>>601186377
That must be sick. I've thought about how great it could be with a good conductor.

>>601180426
listening to that. So good.
>>
>>601186377
pretty lights is the fucking man, talk about pioneers. did you see the documentary for how he made a color map of the sun? he did everything analog which is insanely complicated and got tons of musicians to come in and just kind of improvise stuff that he later altered to make the songs

2. Pretty Lights with additional help
3. Full Orchestra

sounds like fucking musical orgasm all over the place. Some day I'll see one of those shows hahaha
