>>
>>556291763
Dude, clearly you need to upgrade 2 things if your rating is that low.
Upgrade your hard drive and your processor. Seriously all that RAM is going to waste.
Get an SSD and a high rpm 500gb HDD.
And get a fucking iseries processor. An i5 should easily make that computer run like a fucking nigger who just stole a kilo of cocaine.

The only reason I have not bought an i series processor is because in all this rig only cost me about $250 after all the upgrades. I know the Xeon's are old but they are dual quads and that is good enough for what I do. I have had it for 2 years though so i series is what I will be going to next.

Understandable.
Also don't waste money on an i7. If you have a mobo that supports overclocking (or have the knowledge to make it do so) and i5 is all you'll ever need. Shit, even without overclock the i5 is still the best bang for your buck.
Also seriously, SSDs improve performance drastically.

The 580s are starting to die (random black screens and shit while in games), but I'm hoping they'll hold until the 800 series comes out. Might have to settle on a pair of 780tis and use one of the 580s for PhysX, though.

Yeah I am planning on getting a better monitor once I have the desk space to fit one. I currently use the one listed + a 50" Panasonic Plasma (Don't give a fuck about LED/LCD bullshit, look at a plasma and tell me it doesn't look fucking gorgeous. I dare you) as my second monitor.

I also have to replace my motherboard, as it came with bent pins (I bent them back and they work fine now), a dead fan port, and a dead RAM channel. Kinda a bitch, but I'll get a new mobo soon enough.

>>556303967
What?

If you get a 4K TV the upscaling is just going to be exponentially worse. Imagine pulling 720p content all the way to 4K without a decent algorithm like Spline.

i despise the layout, the whole support(hand holding) bull shit, and the navigation.

Why do i need to do a "advanced" shutdown just to enter bios/boot a disc? Why do i need to set it to legacy over UEFI to boot a usb drive? I understand its easy to do all of this but i hate the fact that they would implement this shit. I don't like shit to change. I like to be able to fuck with shit with ease, something is fucken wrong!! ill fix it with reading tuts/info and working with the system manually.

Vid card had corrupt drivers. Needed to set a bunch of stupid fucken rights to dtrip drivers and install updated versions of the ones that wouldn't update due to corruption.

Your CPU is aging as well. A 660ti, 670 or 680 would all be good choices for the CPU you have right now. Or if you perfer AMD a 7970 would also be good choice.

However those gpus are hard to come by now so you're probably ready for an upgrade all round.

>>556307370
You running the stock heatsink? If so I'd suggest just grabbing a closed loop liquid cooler as opposed to upgrading the processor. Cheaper, can do it now, and then if you still want to upgrade the processor later you can still use the same cooler. Idk if 880's will be worth it when they're brand new. I'd recommend the 6GB 780's, I'm probably gonna wait for the 6GB 780 Ti's personally, but they're gonna be expensive as fuck.
