Dumb ass.
They should pay hard workers more money to promote hard work. If your on financial aid from the government then you shouldn't be attempting to live off it and the government shouldn't be encouraging it.
The government should be investing money into people who show great integrity.
If someone can't work due to an actual limitation such as a physical or mental defect then that's fine but you actually want to support Shaqueefa and her 14 children and every anchor baby that floats across the Rio Grande.
Because that's what apparently makes a strong and healthy nation that's going to last.
Wouldn't it make innately more sense to give aid to those who earn it though hard work so they can stop hogging lower tier jobs, go to school, and then make big fucking cash to pay in tax to Uncle Sam?
>>552221285
Most of these people who support the "unable" are fighting to keep houses, stay in school, and eat, and you think its about buying a sports car or keeping up appearances?
People who "bust there asses off" go to an early grave and live barely above the poverty line while they try to support 2.5 children.
This isn't about having heart. Its about watching good people destroy themselves while the powers that be "level the playing field".

Gamma Rays cannot be stopped. They are waves, not particles. Alpha radiation would be stopped by clothing.
>>552219557
Yes you can. I just did.
>>552228269
well they're "stopped" by interacting with electrons. The more matter between you and a source of gamma rays, the higher the chance that the electrons will absorb the photons and not you.
>>552228269
All electromagnetic radiation is both a particle and a wave. You need lead to block it.
>>552228531
Clothing has nowhere near the absorption coefficient to handle gamma radiation. You'd need lead plating.
>>552228890
indeed
>>552227351
The goverment only does this so they don't grow too dissatisfied with the country and/or do big crimes out of desperation and anger
A dissatisfied and angry populace will try to change or overthrow their goverment
So, the goal is to make sure nobody is too pissed off
What the fuck do they care about fairness?
>>552229007
>>552228269
Also the clothing during the blast isn't for the radiation, it's for protecting yourself from the scorching inferno of the blast. It can cause your whole body to be lit on fire and your skin can literally start melting off of your body.
>>552227351
>They should pay hard workers more money to promote hard work.
Interestingly enough, this doesn't actually work anymore. Maybe if we were China, or this was 1942, but not in today's workforce.
See, rewarding someone with monetary means for hard work is what's referred to as Theory X of business management. However, after some research by a few economic professors at MIT, we found out that this sort of incentive only works at a very basic level of work, the type of straight forward mechanical work you'd see on a manual assembly line in a WWII factory, or a car factory, or somewhere in China.
Recently though, a lot of that manual labor has been replaced by increasingly complex machines, so many people have moved up at least a bit in their work quality. This is where Theory X breaks down, because monetary rewards actually decrease performance as soon as even rudimentary mental complexity is added to the work.
This is where we Theory Y in today's workforce. It's most prominent in the tech industry. The theory goes something like what actually boosts performance in more complex lines of work like what we see here in first-world countries is self-governing work. When companies give their employees the chance to work more freely, not for more money, the employees do better. It's the theory that what the employees actually want is to do something worthwhile with their work.
For example, a tech company out in Silicon Valley cut out one day each quarter to let all their employees work on whatever they wanted. The only requirement was at the end of 24 hours they had to present what they had accomplished in that time. Just that day boosted work performance and efficiency in the company by a fuckload.
Seriously though, motivational psychology 101. Go read up on this shit.
>>552229825
I haven't done learnt anything about physics in 3 years so forgive me if I am wrong. But I remember being taught that gamma radiation cannot be stopped, even by an extremely thick block of lead because it has a half life, meaning that after a certain amount of time half of it will have decayed. But and after that same length of time once again half of it will have decayed. But 50% of any number is not 0.
>>552231957
You've got the facts wrong.
When scientist say nothing stop gamma rays, they only mean its extremely difficult to do, but it is possible. Otherwise it would be impossible to exist within a 10mile radius of a nuclear reactor.
Suppose we have some Technicium. It has a half life of 200,000 yrs. This means that, for a 1Kg mass of Te, after 200,000 yrs, only half as much radiation will be getting emitted. After another 200,000 years, then the radiation drops down to 1/4 of the original (since half of a half is a quarter).
After enough time, radiation output is negligable, and the Te is considered safe.
