I went and tried it out because of a cheap groupon.
It's a decent amount of fun, but it depends on who you play with. For me it got a boring after about 30 minutes. I airsoft regularly and I felt it was missing what I love about that kind of play. Sneaking around or taking sniper shots feels great. The problem with archery is low draw bows so its very easy to dodge anything you see coming.
The game I played had a ton of high school girls who were weak as fuck so they took the lowest draw bow available and sat at the back of the room. A buddy and me basically swept rounds solo. We have a decent amount of archery practice from larping and everyone there felt new with a bow.

I think it would be a lot more fun if you brought an entire group of decently skilled players.

Well that and the fact that I would be trying to catch the arrows before they could hit me

Sounds like fun.
Takes more skill than pointing and clicking, your opponent firing is a lot more telegraphic,
and the lack of super-rapid-fire makes games last longer

Saw an archery tag event at a ren faire I went to, looked pretty neat. made me strongly consider opening a combination lazer tag / archery tag facility but apparently all the archery tag patents are held by a franchise and their legal paperwork strictly forbids any of their franchisee's to also offer laser tag or airsoft/paintball.

Couldn't even find archery tag equipment to buy, although I suppose the Larping community equivalent might be something to consider.
