seriously though, his match with Ultimate Warrior, title-vs-title at Wrestlemania

Hogan didn't have that many great matches. Most were just 5 moves of doom. But the Warrior match was legit. It's cool that Warrior went over and all, but really it was just a good match

The Rock match, aside from all the hype just because it was two famous guys (who were washed up at that point, but still had name recognition for the buy rate), was the Rock selling all of Hogan's weak-ass moves. Old Man Hogan couldn't do shit, so the Rock had to flop around like his fish self

Warrior vs. Hogan is literally hype + Patterson being a GOAT agent

(1.) Andre the Giant - WrestleMania III. Defined everything the WWE would become.

(2.) Macho Man Randy Savage - WrestleMania V. Epic rivalry. When their tag team was torn apart, it was a very dramatic time.

(3.) The Ultimate Warrior - WrestleMania VI. Unheard of to see the top two faces going head-to-head. You didn't know who was gonna win. It was shocking to watch.

(4.) The Rock - WrestleMania X8. Vince did everything he could to ensure Hogan would be the heel, and Rocky would be the face. But Hulk's legendary fans wouldn't allow it.

Survivor Series - Mega Powers' Team vs. Twin Towers' Team. You know - Elizabeth ripping off her skirt.

2nd - Hogan vs. Sid WM8. Match gets ragged on, but - BAH GAWD - isn't it the greatest spectacle match of all time. Hulkamania's last hurrah before the slow decline, Sid kicking out of the Leg Drop, Papa Shango botching his entrance, the Warrior's return, and the two baddest men in wrestling at the time having an epic duel.
>>
Hulk Hogan vs. Sgt. Slaughter, because it's got
blood and chairs and fire
and cool stuff like that.
>>
The Hulk Hogan vs. Hulk Hogan mirror match at the Colosseum in Rome 39. AD. under the eyes of Emperor Caligula tbqh

I like some of his lesser known matches. His match with Savage at V was good, but mostly because Randy was a stickler for mapping out his matches move for move, so they were always great to watch. Against Slaughter at 7 wasn't amazing, but it showed Hogan doing stuff he normally wouldn't do, like top rope stuff.

The various matches with Flair were great also. Basically anytime he was with someone good in the ring, they made Hogan look even better.

Nigga Hogan is here Brother!
>>
>>1091495
I'm still pissed to this day Vince didn't let him use his entire moveset in wwe.
>>
>>1092012
Hogan had more skill in the ring than people generally give him credit for, his work in Japan is a testament to that. But even when watered down in the West his ring psychology was top notch, maybe even the best in the business.
>>
>>1091495
His Axe Bomber finisher, has he had that longer than the Atomic Leg Drop?
>>
>>1092042
No he didn't, he had pretty much the same matches in Japan but without the 5 moves of doom finishing sequence, and with a couple of minutes of generic pre rehearsed first-day-of-wrestling-school chain wrestling thrown in to show his "true technical prowess", which was shit. Granted the lack of five moves of doom shit immediately makes all the matches better though.

I liked his matches with Chono, Mutoh, Vader, and Hansen the best. Everything else is basically garbage. Great personality for a show though, totally dug the nwo angle more than any other in US pro wrestling.
>>
>>1097161
No one said that he was a ring wizard, simply that he was more skilled than a lot of people give him credit for, especially since that narrative has been a joke among smarks for years and it's grown more overblown like Hogan's own outlandish claims over time.
>>
>>1091495
let's be honest - he does a handful of extra moves not in his wwe moveset. But even those were creaky and he's still fucking rubbish.
>>
>>1097166
He isn't though. He's exactly as skilled as people give him credit for. He sucked but other guys who were actually good could pull decent matches out of him when given freedom because they brought the work and Hogan brought the hot af crowds which made the matches seem better than they were.

A shit match with a great crowd is as good as a great match with a shit crowd after all.

Hogan got to the top by stepping on everyone else. All throughout his career, he's refused to lose to people and put them over. Part of that was people wanting to protect their cash cow, and part of that was him protecting his own ego. He even refused to put over Austin, which is why they never had a match.

and here's gif for you, nigga!

OFFICIAL LIST OF PEOPLE WHO DID THE SAME THING:

Stone Cold Steve Austin
Andre the Giant
Ric Flair
Bret Hart
HHH
EVERY major star of the 50s, 60s, and 70s
>>
>>1098030

it's true that *many* wrestlers did that during the classical era. Piper RIP used to tell the story of his bagpipes being sabotaged during his first MSG appearance (supposedly by Freddie Blassie). They did that to keep others down and protect their spot

BUT
Hogan did it his entire career. Even as late as the mid-2000s in WWE, he refused to put over up-and-coming talent. Not to mention fucking Vince Russo up the ass every chance he got.

When you sue your company in the late 90s because you don't like a creative decision, you've got a problem
