I'm just glad shelters here only euthanise old and ill pets (though there are shelters that keep them and let them live until they're really in pain, and a lot of them also run events where they put them up for adoption so they've a good place one last time) and the absolutely broken irredeemable aggressive ones.

The dogs and farm animals we have now are nothing like their wild ancestors. A pack of pugs isn't gonna be able to take down a deer or live long in the wild. Cows now are much larger than they were a few hundred years ago.
