my boss does exorcisms and spirit clearings and the like. we even had a camera crew film us once, was good stuff.

as for how he did it, he started 40 years ago by doing psychic readings and just kinda expanded from there.

most Television shows dont really focus much on psychics, so you can easliy copy what they do. get the equipment, look for old houses, contact the owners, and ask to go in there. or just go in there without permission, i mean if its abandoned who cares?

Most ghost hunting shows, like Ghost Adventures, are fake. They're so fake, they often ignore real ghosts to investigate ones they make up. Don't use them as your basis of paranormal investigation.

Try and do some research in your local area. Find some local urban legends, haunted places, etc.
