My parents got me a gaming laptop 2 years ago as a gift and I want to sell it for a car. Should I feel bad about this?

>Should I feel bad about this?
If I were your dad I'd be glad you were out driving around in the real world as opposed to sitting inside playing CS all day.

Two years ago? No, sell it my friend
2 years is a perfectly acceptable amount of time to use a gift, even an expensive one, before replacing it.
Okay, but the only kind of car you can get for $500-1000 are going to be pretty shitty cars. Remember that 2 years is about half the lifespan of a laptop, even the nicest ones aren't really designed to be durable and it's difficult/impossible to upgrade parts. So it's not like you could sell it for the same price as new, even one of the $3000 ones is probably only worth about a third of that now. Hope you've got a job or some other money saved up for when the timing belt or whatever inevitably goes out on your "new" POS car.

It's to top off the $1600 I already have.
My mom got a little sensitive when I told her. But fuck it, it served me well and its lifespan might suck.

$1600 + $400 = still a crappy car
Do it.
