I'm sick and tired of trying so hard to actually sleep. I never seem to feel rested, so what I was wondering was whether or not there is a way to suppress the need for sleep, or cut it down significantly, whilst remaining healthy.

Nope. Without adequate sleep a whole bunch of things start to go wrong in your body. There's no such thing as a healthy insomniac.

Run or lift heavy things before bed, induce at least a hard sweat I'm Not joking. Also stay away from screens at night for a little while.
