the only thing that comes close to a real life equivalent is a bail bondsman, so I'd look into that.

There are hitmen who work for organized crime to be sure, but that's not a job you can just decide to do you'd have to already be part of the organization.

No particular reason I guess. It's just that European authorities tend to be fairly strict when it comes to vigilante business. Obviously bounty hunting isn't vigilante, but it's fairly similar.
