Okay so, I'm recently undecided for a major at school. I've been looking into all areas of study and I think I'd do well in filmmaking. However being the nervous and cowardly fuck I am, I'm unsure about going through with this or not, how do you get over small insignificant fears?

Don't do it. I know a lot of film majors about to graduate who have no idea wtf they're going to do. If you like film, it's something you can do without going to film school. All the resources to learn are out there online. Get people who are interested in making movies with you, make movies, get better, collab with others, meet new people in the film industry and so on. If you want to make it, you MUST be social. I make stupid videos/shorts with my friends because it's fun, some of them turn out good. Enter film festivals/contests. Obviously you wont be nominated in cannes film festival or something at first, but you can start small and work up. Some have cash prizes.
