With the right woman, it's not much effort. It's mostly reward.

The problem is that it can be difficult to find the right woman unless you are the right man. Basically, top tier people get top tier mates. This doesn't necessarily mean looks. It means being a person who understands what it takes to make a relationship work. Loyalty, honesty, communication, maturity. If you're under the age of 30, some of those things can be difficult to find and be.

Gotta go through some bullshit to get something good. But that's true in all aspects of life.

I think having friends was a matter of luck. Find some nice people and hopefully that will lead you to meeting more nice people.
I didn't get laid because I don't want sex without a relationship (not saying I would be able to get that either though), and for different reasons I couldn't get a romantic relationship with the women I've been interested in.
