I'm sorry, but that's not correct anymore. In may he charged the patrons saying "it will be out this month, that's why you're paying. you'll get even HQ translation". But the game didn't come out, he switched the focus on the translation cause he needed to deliver something. He released the (unfinished and buggy) translation on the first of june in order to save the appearance, promising to deliver the full translation in days. Now he's on vacation till the 15th of the month. He should deliver the fucking game right now, he made a promise which he wasn't able to fulfill. It's not about "the game that he wants" anymore, it's about reliability.
AS might be the greatest western h-game of all time (and I wish him so), but I will not give him another cent cause he hasn't got my trust anymore.

Huh, I've never said that in my life. I'm working to release a free game. Nobody has to pledge anything. How does that mesh with what you just made up?
The most asinine part of all this whining, bitching, moaning, etc. is that if I ultimately release the final game late this year or early next year, it will have been about 2 years from first release to finish, maybe 2 and a half if it drags longer into next year. That is both on par with the better Japanese releases and less than games like ScaleGarden, Virgin Island, etc. People just need to stop bitching, play some of the other games, and enjoy Aylia's Story when it is released.
As for those who charged and feel cheated. YOU CAN GET A REFUND. Gee, how dishonest I am... I'm such a terrible, terrible person.

It's not that I feel like I have seen it somewhere before.
But the girl and her clothes just look like something from those paper doll things (like Kisekae). There is far too many of those to tell where he might have gotten it from, if it really is not original.
The fact he used the same images for the inventory as when clothes are displayed on the girl just has me further believe he took them from somewhere else.
And the other things in those inventory screenshots, like the bible (which looks like a 3D model, btw.) and the food, also look like stuff you see in other games hundreds of times, exactly like that.
It just all looks too generic to have me think any of this is original for his game.
It's hard to describe, but it's just a very strong feeling that he got the art from somewhere else, as I have seen stuff looking exactly the same way too often before.

I am currently playing a build of harem collection and I love how the hero just doesn't give a fuck and just wants to get laid. You could create the game with the two story lines and as you build the game take from DCAU and get a few trusted testers for solid opinions. My personnel choice is the idea of a item that lets you control whomever you wish like a hypnosis ring or amulet... and as you use it you gain more power to unlock more depraved options, but that would let the player choose what they wish to see over just being forced certain options.

I generally find artists on forums, tumblr, etc. and if I see someone who seems like they're all three of these things;
1) Skilled (of course)
2) Fast worker; I'm not expecting a full CG every day or something, but if you check how often someone posts art on their website of choice, you can USUALLY get a good idea of how fast they work, which also affects the next thing.
3) Has the free time to actually work on a project; some people may post very infrequently because they're already part of a major project, or have a non-art-related job that is sucking up all their time.
If they seem like they fit all three though, then I drop them a message. 95% of people don't respond, honestly. The 5% that do, maybe 25% of them, after talking to them, actually fit what I assumed (that they have free time/can do work fast mainly), and out of those, split it in half again for those who actually are personally interested in working on a game.
As far as paying a commission up front, I usually don't, for two reasons;
1) I don't make enough money to do this yet (I'm only making enough to pay my rent/bills/food/medical), and
2) Patreon percentages for projects and game sales themselves usually make far, far more than what these artists would have asked for up front.
If I ever got a lot more money than I had now, I would first use it on quality of life upgrades for the work I'm doing (better computers for the programmers so compiling doesn't take ages, better tablets for the artists, so on).
Then, if we got more money after that, I'd use it to improve the games themselves (hire even more voice actrresses/actors, get game over CGs, hire animators for games that weren't going to be animated), and if I'd improved all the games I was working on and we were still bringing in an excess of money, I'd probably just start paying artists up front.

We usually all work on the first month or so of a game pro-bono; no one has gotten paid for Internal Interrogation or Reclaim Reality yet, for instance. Generally I start a Patreon up for a game when it's within a month or so of being able to have a demo out, but in both of those game's cases, I started up Patreons about 2 or 3 months ahead of time because both of them have up-front people that need payments, and so we need to make money to pay them to make the demos.
A large part of why I can find people willing to work with me NOW though pro-bono is because of Future Fragments and now, Magic Matchup; I'm able to say "hey, work with me pro-bono for a month and you'll make solid cash once we get a Patreon going and we get a demo out and such", and I have the numbers to back it up.
Prior to Future Fragments, it was nearly impossible to find people who would work pro-bono, and those that I did quickly lost belief that western hentai games would make any money or had real life troubles to deal with.
Finally, about DAZ, I've never used it and none of the games I'm working on use it, so I honestly wouldn't know :( sorry!

I'm not a studio or a group of developers; it's more like I'm organizing teams of people to make games and such.
I'm a writer, marketer, and game/character designer, as my main roles on all the games I'm working on.
What I do though is come up with game ideas, then I find an artist and programmer for each game (generally new people per game, so people don't get overloaded with work, with me being the only "unifying" factor between all games as I'm working on all of them).
Once I have a team, then we'll all start inputting our own ideas on the game's design; I generally keep teams small, between 3-4 people (myself as the core writer/story, an artist, a programmer, and if we need one, a background artist or animator; all sound/VAs are contracted externally and paid up front).
After we're pretty solid on the game's general gameplay and overall design, we'll start making assets, and then once we feel we're able to make a demo within 2-3 or so months, we'll make a Patreon for it if it's a large game, or if it's a small game, it'll go on the small games Patreon.
Once we have a Patreon up, I do weekly posts on each Patreon/game showing off art, or writing for it (or both) and also talking about where we're at in development. I respond to questions and handle the Patreon rewards myself too, all that kinda stuff, so everyone else just has to focus on their core areas.

Don't want to start any drama, just wanted to note that I am taking steps to improve the very long development times. The most important one is I transitioned from merely working on this in my spare time (4-5 hours a week), to actually working 2-4 days per week as a part time job. This only began at the end of April, but is really helping to speed things up.
I've mentioned in the past, but want to reiterate, prior to April, I was literally working on the game whenever I found time outside of my full time job, raising a 1 year old, and other family obligations. That is like 5 hours a week most of the time--which means not much gets done. That's why I would never run a monthly Patreon. I don't know what I was smoking with my early release predictions (somehow I thought I'd create and balance a battle system in 2 days...) Yea, that took almost a month and a half.
I believe things will pick up now that I'm actually working multiple days per week (Hunter's Quest was partially released, for example). Still, I can't really hire and form a team without running a monthly Patreon, and I have no plans to do so. It'll come when it comes, look at the Seismic release, quality takes time, but when it is finished, it is worth it (although I greedily wanted more of the wolfy goodness!).

This also serves another purpose; for those who have a significant amount of power or popularity on a given site, said site can choose to ignore its own ToS as it is again a series of warnings and not hard and fast rules, to allow said person to continue bringing in whatever they bring to the site.
