For sure, early versions of the game will be a single girl trainer type with some elements on management simulation, you will focus on generating income and improving your own character's stats. Right now I have very barebones systems made to support multiple girls, but I probably won't develop it further until all the systems for a single girl are created. (Statistics, activities, status effects, etc)
A lot of things I'm creating on the fly, concepting while developing, so features are coming and going as I work; that's why wordy posts from myself are so staggered, a lot of things I can't quite explain until I've actually created them. I'm a dev first and idea/concept/writer second.
As far as the game overall, I plan on incorporating mechanics from a lot of different games into this as well as concepts that have gone unexplored. My cam show/tipping simulator is an example of something I want to expand on more to provide more immersion/eroge context in terms of making an actual "game" in the adult genre.

This is mine to that dev for harlots the game sounds like it is solid but something that you could do is make the game more engaging then just a simple look at the pwetty pictures and click for cash money. Try looking at it as a more open world game or at the very least have something to compete against such as NPC rivals you have to do combat with Whore Master for example had a GREAT concept but the fact it was just a Brothel sim with more features made it seem to most people boring and stale. If it was more open world with actual combat encounters it would have made it a HELL of a lot for fun and would give the user more to do then just track stat girls and advance to next day to make cash.

One of the main problems I've found with most brothel sims is that the character interactions that aren't overly repeated job or training scenes are few and far between. I think interacting/talking with more characters would make the world you're attempting to build much less empty and bring a lot more meaning to the sex. If I were you I'd use the character creation for a basic set of girls but also have some set characters so you can follow quest lines and arcs with them to make the game feel a little more interactive.

So I've started up some work on a lewd game and thought I'd ask for some advice. I got a good grasp of the structure I want and my rough prototype is more or less running how I want it to, but I want to run some things by people who aren't me.
Basic premise is you have a collection of girls you have a collection with various stats, species, body types, and personalities. You go into different area with a squad of three in order to bring back resources to trick out your base/girls, with the end goal of finding a big enough crystal to get your floating city back online. Naturally dicking goes down in many of those areas, and it's possible to have one of your girls knocked up, altered, or straight up taken away from you. Girls are somewhat disposable, and sometimes you might want to sell or trade one off for a better reward.
I'm not sure what tone I want to do yet. I could go either brutal, no fun allowed rape all of the time or something more of a light hearted game where the sex is mostly fun to everyone involved.
I'm also trying to decide on how I want to do my events for the areas. Each area is going to have a pool of events that are randomly chosen from with different selectable options based on your girl's attributes. I'm torn between having three-five smaller events per exploration, or one longer event. I also want to find out what would be an acceptable number of events to put in each area, since I don't want the player to get bored.
Any feedback would be great.

I'm a full time programmer, though in order to save myself some work I'm doing it in Ren'py with actual Python code in there. I'll admit I'm not the most familiar with Python, but with some fiddling around I already have a few classes set up to do things like randomly generate a girl based on some passed in parameters. I'm not afraid of doing the crunchwork needed to make what I want happen.

Yeah, striking a balance on this will be tricky. Right now each girl is basically a collection of stats plus a race and a quirk or two. I'm not too worried about making different event variants for different types since I can cover that with conditionalized menu choices if I need too. Most quirks will be superficial for the most part and will usually result in a couple of unique lines in the sex scenes, though part of the exploration element for the player will be bringing different types of girls into different areas to what happens if you do something like bring an elf girl into an orc encampment.

I'll make sure to keep that in mind. What my plan was each time you do a run you come back with some amount of crystals that you use on upgrading your base or buying new areas. New areas are usually more difficult and have greater risk involved, but have unique items or let you recruit rarer varieties of girl that lower level areas. You could go back to lower levels to tough up a new girl, want to grind some crystals, or just see if you missed anything, but ideally I'm working on balancing things so that if you're good or lucky you can avoid backtracking.

So what should I look at for more dating sim/adventure game type games? I'm pretty new to this porn game stuff and over the past month I've been trying a ton of different stuff. I liked what there was of Delirium, Stroke of Madness, Rogue-Like, HuniePop, Sisters Secret.
I was looking towards more of the Japanese stuff but it seemed far too complicated to change the windows local settings and stuff just to download and get a game I'm not even sure about. If someone has any non-western games that don't require a lot of work to get running I'd love to know.
