Aka has a solid drawing style, but there are 2 wrong things with his artstyle. He draws heads/foreheads way to big. I'm not asking for perfect bodies but it gets out of hand sometimes. Then like you said, he is inconsistent in his drawings where things just look like crap sometimes.
Not saying that this can't be fixed with time though, his art has gotten better in Kaguya. The only thing I disliked about Instant Bullet is the art actually, I felt like if he had more experience in drawing while it was being published it could have easily been a 10/10.

Yeah, and it's a really impressive bounce back too. From what I've seen and all the promotion it's getting, it's by far the most popular new series in Young Jump for a decent while, He's even the judge for the current oneshot competition, which isn't much by itself but it's impressive given how new he is to the magazine.
I'm tempted to read all the oneshots he'll be judging to see what kind of stuff he likes, but I don't even know what to think after this week's. If anything I thought the plot was solid. The characters themselves worked together fine. You could tell the time restraints on the series really held it back. Moroki was suppose to have an arc for himself. A majority of the complaints on it where that the last arc was lacking, and thats understandable considering that it was axed. If Aka could fix his art up a bit and was given the time to develop his characters, the series would be fine.
