Maybe it's more because fights in an action anime, while maybe being evil to some people, make sense. But a girl just losing her shit because of her own retarded mistakes and taking it out on a guy is really annoying to watch.
There's something more logical about a fight to test someone's powers. Actions which were done based on a thought process are much less evil than actions done on a spur of emotions. Besides, a fight can be a little enjoyable, whereas getting beaten up from an emotional bitch for doing nothing wrong is not enjoyable at all.
Testing skill and strength is useful and helps build the body and mind, but getting hit by some crazy bitch with no self control is completely unproductive.
