Well it depends I guess, the themes were much more easier to make out in the italian version which I read, and I think it really helped to make the story great in my eyes, since the themes connected with the main crew quite well and especially helped to characterize Giorno and his figure in the group. It also reflected on Diavolo pretty damn well, and created a unique thematic relationship between the JoJo and the villain which I've yet to see repeated or done as well in the series.

I love Part 6 but it definitely has problems. I can see why a lot of people don't like it. The characters are kind of all over the place, and it has really weird pacing. Add on to that a "universe reset" as an ending, even if it IS a good ending for the gang in the end, and it rubs a lot of people the wrong way.

I don't get how people didn't like the snails thing, it was pretty simple to understand since they weren't actually snails, they just thought they were snails and in turn led them to act like snails. It was true levels of bullshit but it was in the farthest realms of making sense, which made it pretty entertaining. But it wasn't, Koichi had no real role in part 5 aside from the beginning, Emporio was a part of the crew almost right from the start. Jolyne's sacrificing of herself to save Emporio from the Joestar curse was one of the most selfless things a Joestar could do, it was almost a throwback to Jonathan's sacrifice in part 1. In turn, Emporio growing the balls and courage to face Pucci head on by tricking him to push the WR stand disk inside of his head was the peak of Emporio's development.
Jolyne put all her trust in Emporio because he was the only one left at that point who could've stopped Pucci with the WR disk, you saw as well how Stone Free couldn't do shit to MiH Pucci, and she knew that, yet she chose to buy time to save Emporio through the expense of her own life.
After everything Emporio had to witness and go through, the fact he could stand toe-to-toe with Pucci and fuck his shit up in a satisfying way was a peak for a good ending in my opinion.

It's honestly a really good starting point for the entire conflict that goes through parts 1-3. It's got a compelling character arc for both Dio and Johnathan. It's just short, and a bit standard, even if its very well executed.
It just feels like so much less in comparison to the other parts, especially later stuff. The story just gets so much more creative as it goes on.
Also, there's probably a nostalgia factor there for japanese readers.

If you want a serious response, I'd have to disagree. BT's villains whilst serving to make the other villains looking better, were honestly bland and very forgettable. Outside of meme status, Esidisi and Kars had nothing interesting about them. Do people even remember Wired Beck and Donovan? Kars may have been dirty but he still had no character, he just killed everyone because he could and wanted to become the Ultimate Lifeform because yes? I guess?
Though Wham I'll have to say is one of the best minor villains in the series and is truly underrated.
Joseph's relationship with Wham too was honestly the best written thing in part 2, which is what made it better than part 1 in my eyes.
But the side characters too were pretty shit barring Stroheim and Speedwagon. Speedwagon gets a pass because he was prominent in part 1, Stroheim was genuinely interesting and showed up and helped more than the brojo of the part, Caesar, who in my opinion is the weakest-written brojo in the whole series. He got little characterization, got a backstory that was thrown-in and his death was exaggerated to make us feel sad for him when we really had no reason to. Hell, Joseph never mentions him again after that. Ever.
Art style I'd disagree fully, it was a great style but it doesn't hold a candle to part 8's current style or hell, even mid-part 4's style.
Though to be honest I still adore part 2. It's my 2nd least favorite part with part 1 just being underneath it, but it was still a wild ride.

This one is a stand ability, ie no punch ghost or visible manifestation. The user has above average strength and speed for a human, not star platinum level, but below that. Somewhere between pillarman and SP. The ability is that other stand abilities do not affect it. That means it can move in stopped time, cant be healed by crazy diamond or morphed by gold experience. Kiss' stickers dont multiply the user, goo goo dolls cant shrink it and so forth. I think it has the "oh dang this is a powerful stand" factor as well as would bring about a good fight thats just combat. I know that type of fight is atypical for jojo but its fun to have a change of pace every once in a while

Once upon a time SDC was the only animated Jojo.
It was incomplete, it was kind of pants, but it was all we had, it was the gateway drug and that was fine.
Now? Now we have PB and BT, we have a complete SC, we have Diamond airing. We can now see the flaws of SC as a whole in animation. It's no longer limited by the OVA and we can see it's flaws as an Enemy of the Week story to draw it out more than needed and that it's characters are comparably weak compared to the other parts.
Manga readers naturally never got shocked by this.

The guy was such a rock in later parts, he made you feel like everything would be all right no matter what. Shit like this made Jotaro go far from being my least favorite Jojo, he felt like the most human out of all the Jojos barring Johnny, he had proper flaws and he suffered because of them yet he still chose to save Jolyne over nailing Pucci the moment he had the chance.I tear up too at that scene, Jolyne and Jotaro never even got some proper time with eachother dammit.

I mean, yeah, he was killed by a secondary character at the end, but it still sucks knowing that he did kill literally every other character in restarting the world, and just flat out killing them. He was really the only Jojo bad guy so far to actually succeed in his goals. He just didn't expect to be outrused by a kid who then erased him from reality.

That's what I loved about the ending of part 6, it was bittersweet, it wasn't just a "Everyone gangs up and beats Pucci!" ending which it could've been. The scenes where Pucci absolutely destroyed the crew of part 6 still gets to me, because of how fucking graphic it was. One by one you saw they were picked off, and then you saw their corpses actually fucking ROT in the ocean due to MiH's affects. It was fucking disgusting and sad as hell since you just knew that the heroes you'd love throughout the part were killed off and gone for good because of Pucci having the drive to finish his job.
It was made even more horrible by how Jolyne was killed off, you saw fucking Stone Free's arms and sunglasses blown right out of the water, showing how violently Jolyne was killed.
Things like this make Pucci a top-tier villain for me. He had a goal to do, and he did everything he could to achieve it, going so far as to kill the main cast in the most efficient, most merciless ways. Pucci was a cold blooded killer who didn't even realize how evil he was, which only made it more satisfying when you saw how fucking painful his death was.I'm caught up with the series, and there's no moment that gets me sadder than Emporio crying when he's reunited with the alternate-part 6 crew. He was just a fucking kid.

Me neither, anon. I only came to appreciate part 6 much more on my re-read. There's so many great parts about it, F.F's character, the wacky fights and the surprising amount of subtle character development in characters like Jolyne, Emporio and Jotaro, as well as the minor villains like Rykiel and Versace, but overall Pucci made the part fucking brilliant.

I didn't think part 7 was that sad in the end, Johnny 's catharsis was incredible and the fight with Valentine was amazing. Only thing I didn't care for was how forced Diego felt and how unceremoniously Hot Pants died(though there were a lot of side characters in Part 7 that were built up only to die). I haven't started Part 8 yet though, should probably leave before I get spoiled.

Not even Damo's body horror-licious fight ended with any major casualties sustained by the protags. Hato got her heart broken, but otherwise everyone came out unscathed. It's a bit disturbing when everything so far has been sunshine and happiness mysteries with a cute couple at the helm, and just knowing that disaster is inevitable.

Eh its very close between Pucci and Valentine for me. I will say I enjoyed Valentine's fight much more, and that his goal was admirable in a way. The fucker almost had me convinced in the final fight as well; part 7 is cool in that neither side is really good or evil.
