Yes.
There were many cringe worthy moments and the writing is mediocre at best. The ending doesn't feel like a proper closure at all. I was surprised when the credit rolled, I thought there would be more.

The SoL was good and it had some great moments but the way everything fit together was really bad and compromised the show as a whole. In the end it felt like a serious of fun moments stamped into a mediocre show that couldn't decide what it wanted to be or where it wanted to focus.

And? BB drafts are much higher than DD drafts. For reference, much of Pearl had depths dredged to 45 feet in order to allow their large ships to berth without scraping bottom. Kagero-class DDs had 3.8m of draft and 6.3m of freeboard at the bows, so in order to completely submerge the hull, you need it to sink in only 10 or so meters of water.
There's nothing special about sinking in harbor; it's still sunk. Whether or not its wreck is submerged is only a function of how deep the harbor is. That's it.

The Musashi crew are in zombie mode. They basically react to every single attack and constantly shifting their aim to every ship, which doesn't help with their aiming. That and the other ships had already done some damage to the ship, so the aim being off due to damage is also a possibility.

The issue is that the show always showed one ship vs. one ship.
A Maus vs. a Hetzer would be a huge mismatch too, but the thing about GuP is that there were multiple tanks that COULD make up for each other's deficiencies (however silly a fashion) in what would otherwise be a cut-and-dry matchup. Ship to ship combat can't be consistently be exciting unless it's on a fleet level, and the same could be said for Tanks, really. The last drifting fight in the anime between the Pz IV and Tiger was hype because one-to-one fights of that sort weren't shown much, but it wouldn't have been interesting if they'd been doing that for 12 episodes.
In comparison, in Haifuri we only see two fleet-level engagements, one in which the boy's school fleet runs into Musashi and the other in the final episode battle, and both of them focus almost primarily on Harekaze. The only things Hamakaze, Maikaze, Hiei, Spee and the modern vessels do is just shoot without any real effect, and they were fighting just one ship.
