What's the point of Grace and Gloria now? Sure they may not have been "reformed" through EGAO but they're as good as harmless now. All of their credibility as villains has vanished and they have been demoted to spectators. Even if they have a duel against the Lancers now, no one will take them seriously anymore. Well, Obelisk Force was never really OP. Every duel they presented a real threat, they did so by either situational/environmental advantage or numbers advantage.

vs Tsukikage/Sora: 3v1 which then turned into 3v2 with the 2k intrusion penalty
vs Shun/Yuya: Dropped part of a building on Shun
What makes Obelisk Force a real threat is that they try to rush you as a team and then beat you to death with the environment when available, and in that sense they never really lose their credibility as a possible threat.
It's also in that sense that all of Arc-V's villains maintain some level of credibility even when they're jobbers like Dennis. Real Solid Vision is no joke.

Actually, I found the Yuri duel to be a pretty interesting showcase of his ability.
The Yusho students made it a point to brag about entame duels and all rushed to bring out their biggest boss monsters T1, which made me recall the Yuya/Jack duel in 64 where Yuya did the same thing in a show of his prowess, only to get BTFO by Jack.
It felt like the entire sequence was presenting a "what-if" of what would've happened if Yuya didn't have his synchro development and I found it almost chilling in that sense.

Last Zexal pack didn't have a Yuma card, so I doubt the last pack will have a Yuya card. The final booster will likely be SVFD's upgrade, or a Reiji monster. I don't really buy that honestly. I think he was always like that. Character development usually stems from some kind of problem a character has that they need to overcome which makes them change. So far Reiji hasn't had any of that. We just never saw much of him except for his stoic, calculating side because the writers never felt like giving him enough screen time.
So in Synchro we see a few more sides of him we didn't see before but it's largely implied that he was always like that.
Reiji hasn't been through any struggles where something he believes in has been challenged or some really tragic situation that turned his world upside down and he needs to overcome it like Yuya had to with his Entame being challenged by Jack.

There's a certain mix of derision and hopefulness that's pretty easy to assume from how he treats them in synchro that isn't as easily picked up on before; especially shun.

The Mieru Duel actually serves as a good point of foreshadowing that we're still getting payoff from. It's plot-relevant even if the character herself didn't stick around for long.
Just because the Prison Arc was shit as a concept doesn't mean it's not relevant. Sadly, a downside of Synchro is that a good chunk of it is unentertaining shit that you still need to watch because there IS important plot in there. At the very least, the Enjoy duels should be marked in yellow.
Ironically, Yuzu VS Sergey can be completely skipped because the important parts show up in repeated flashbacks over the next half dozen episodes. The duel itself is pretty lackluster, to boot. Still should probably be yellow.
100 and 101 cannot be skipped, even if most of 101 is recap. 100 has some of the best acting in the series and one of the best keikaku-offs in card game anime history. 101 is admittedly something you COULD skip if you REALLY didn't want to sit through 15 minutes of recap, but definitely not skipping 100.

I think the lead up (59) and the latter two eps (62-63) were a bit more important than the rest and deserve considering at yellow.
59 is important in hindsight because it provides the implication in 73 that gallager was setting up Shun, Gon, and Dennis for capture the entire time and it also has good bits with Reira
62 has the prison escape sequence which is great for confirming how Shun reacts towards lancers who aren't keikakuing assholes or Dennis
and 63 is the escape + explanation of the friendship cup and its origin

I dunno if I'd call a good chunk of it outright unentertaining. Every ep had at least something that made it decent/worthwhile and perpetually above Michie or Quiz tier, and from 70-75 onwards it was overall a fairly smooth ride to the finish.

I think we'll get a pure Effect Pendulum Odd-Eyes upgrade eventually. I was hoping it'd come out in this Edo duel because of the way boss monsters are introduced and the upcoming episode's title "Pendulum Heart". If we get Odd-Eyes Clear and Venom Dragons, then that means we'd have 2 Synchro Pendulums and only 1 Xyz Pend and 1 Fusion Pend. It makes more sense for the next pack's cover to be the Fusion Pendulum. The FP will likely be a Performapal (maybe with Stargazer in there as well). The hopes for a 2nd set of Extra Deck Pendulums was dashed on Saturday when Yuya revealed no new Xyz monster. Performapals already have a Fusion upgrade: Beast-Eyes. Stargazer has a Fusion upgrade as well in the form of Rune-Eyes. Even though Yuya used Trump Girl as Material last time he summoned it, Rune-Eyes's design is clearly based off of Stargazer and its effect is maximized when Stargazer (as Lv 5) is used as Material.
Brave-Eyes was a surprise, I think it could go with the upcoming episode title: BRAVE eyes pendulum HEART if you get the reference. More realistically, it also seems like the Odd-Eyes fusion upgrades reference protagonist archetypes and aces: Rune-Eyes refs Yugi's magicians. Beast-Eyes refs Yuya's EMs, and Brave-Eyes refs Yuma's warrior ace (since we're in Xyz) and Judai/Edo's warriors (since Yuya's fighting Ed/Fusion). And of course they are all dragons so they ref Yusei while still being "Pendulum Dragons" to red Yuya and his counterparts. Deepest lore indeed.
If you're looking for a Fusion Pendulum, it'll likely be a fusion of EM, magician, and Odd-Eyes although it'd be better lore-wise if it was just EM+Stargazer.

Hell, Synchro arc was basically a better, card game version of namek, all things considered.
I just saw the episode and well, it was better than expected. Grace fangirling over Yuya was cute and Edo is actually good at dueling and not a joke like i thought at first. Kaito beating all those Obelisk and smiling to Yuya was great too, i'm glad he isn't an edgelord anymore but sad too because we'll probably never get a Yuya Vs Kaito to see who is stronger. Kaito is way too OP for my taste but he is a Cameo so i guess its ok. About Yusho dissapearing i don't really know but maybe because he used the Dimension Travel machine while it wasn't 100% Complete changed him. Now he appears and dissapears through all Dimensions like a broken toy.

Well to be fair it was done better with Atem. He was going to kill Kaiba before Yugi stopped him and he was going to inflict a shadow game on Pegasus before Pegasus told him the Millennium Items have an evil in them and Atem didn't want to be controlled by them so he purposefully let Pegasus off the hook. From there he started really improving as a forgiving protagonist.
Yugi himself was always a forgiving protagonist and probably the nicest protagonist too.
