Part 8's protagonist is an imperfect fusion of two gay men and a dog. He has four balls, split tongues, split eyes, cute gap teeth, and multicolored skin, and his stand is ungodly OP. And he has the same name as part 4's protag.

They're trying to get the Higashikata family, a group of weirdos, to eat it because they have a family curse that turns them into origami. But this is very bad.
The Higashikatas are an old man with ball hair, A blind girl who tries to rape Gappy and eat his memories, a dick with another OP stand, a hot girl who can make her heels grow, a corrupt corporate executive, and a crossdressing five year old who tries to assault our brojo with his stand.

Man, when I started watching JoJo I had no idea what it was, how big it was, or even that it had parts taking place after Phantom Blood. I fell in love basically immediately, thinking it was some kind of hot blooded 1800s murder mystery thing. Like a crazy anime adaptation of Clue.

The budget is a lot lower for Part 4 than it was for Part 3. It's not as low as the first season, but it's clearly a lot lower. They're doing a decent job of masking it with clever effects and transitions, but it's pretty obvious.
No fancy outsourced CGI OP, much simpler style with the shading only coming in during dramatic moments, and no lavish scenes like the Part 3 anime was full of where the camera whips around the characters and mimics 3D movement.
It was to be expected, Part 4 is just not as popular in Japan.

Stone Ocean is my favourite part. It's a fucking insane climax to the Joestar/DIO fued, filled with some of the most wrenching body horror and largest scale stands, arguably the most unique JoJo, and easily the most fleshed out and interesting villain.

It's why I said arguably and not definitely, Joseph is certainly a precious treasure and I'd argue Gappy is pretty unique too.
But Jolyne has a lot to her her that makes her unique. She has a resentment to her father, the notorious autist that we already know very well. She paints the most iconic hero in all of JoJo as a really shitty person. She had a love interest at the beginning of the part that betrayed her, instead of the Jonathan/Joseph brand of love interest that just acts like a reward at the end.
It's the little things about Jolyne that really made her have an impression on me. Like when Romeo reveals that he's actually remorseful for what he's done, and how he genuinely wants to help after so horribly betraying his girlfriend. And then she rips his tongue in half anyways, completely casually. There's another scene when appraching the Kennedy Space Center when she just strolls past three survivors screaming for help.
Partly because of the body horror focus of Stone Ocean, Jolyne is a lot filthier than previous JoJos. JoJos are always badasses with a heart of gold, even Jotaro. Jolyne is rougher than that, she has her goal and nothing else matters besides accomplishing it.
I dunno. I just think Jolyne is really fucking cool.
