Trailer scenes are usually from the first three or so episodes of anime since they're the first ones produced. Since Farnese is heavily featured, does that mean the anime is going to skip the Black Swordsman and Guardians of Desire Arcs and go straight to Conviction?

Doubt it. We have seen plenty of scenes from the Baron story and 24 episodes is about 8 episodes too many to adapt all of Conviction.

No, all the footage so far has been from the chapter after Black Swordsman and the beginning of the Conviction Arc. They wouldn't show trailer footage from episodes that wouldn't have been animated at this point. That means they're skipping Black Swordsman, the Count's Arc, and Lost Children which is a real shame since those a lot of character development happens there.
