She is a soldier from a noble family, that was basically sent to shit duty of guarding basically exciled princess (officially she`s there for healing, in truth since king and his wife are dicks), and to remove her from court for political reasons.
She thinks that her "exile" for this duty is somehow her fault, and tries hardest to restore her family name honor and fulfil her duty as a soldier whose family was one for generations - at same time deeply depressed because of unjustice that happened to her and Latiffa, and trying to fight that depression.
Pretty deep character, but than again - Anime barely touches the LN lore.
