Could someone explain the zou timeline to me I'm a bit confused. So it took nami and the group to reach zou in a day right? But then that means that doffy was defeated by then and jack left on that exact same day. I just can't like him. He's my least liked strawhat member and all he provides is boredom or cliché behavior, but not in a charismatic manner like Goku. It's more in a "I'm just a background character" way.
He's just so bland. Perhaps I'm missing something but even his best moments are either eyerolling or more about someone else in my eyes, he can't draw my attention. Everyone in his crew has a personality, he's the only one that looks like some fanmade new character. I want to like him but I can't.

I watched Thriller Bark fully and honestly his back story was for me, no where NEAR as epic or amazing as people made out it would be. It just felt kind of forced. In someone like Nami's past, things just seemed more believable. Racketeering is something which can happen in real life and people (Bellemere) can die for not complying.
In comparison, Brook's "quartet, trio, duo, etc" scene was just... eh. I didn't find it terrible, not even bad, but it didn't have the same emotional impact as something like, losing a parent or very close loved one, as seen in most back stories. Brook's is the only back story where I've never really felt invested in what's going on.
I guess that makes Brook's unique, that it's not just a loved one dying or something. I can't say I didn't love the Laboon stuff though. One of my favorite reveals and plot twists in OP.

the D's had to have possession of the ancient weapons during the void century, so that means that even with the weapons they still lost the war. I'm willing to bet that Blackbeard is the ancient weapon Uranus (the person carrying the yami yami no mi) this fits with oda's silliness too (that uranus can create a "black hole" that sucks everything that enters into it). Enies lobby was probably the location of the final battle of the void century with joyboy sacrificing himself to try to end it (him telling pluton's operator to nuke the island while he was on it)
I also think BB is uranus because once Luffy defeats the yonko he will need to go to the next level and literally the only thing I can think of is to beat an ancient weapon

Honestly? The Straw Hats are some of the least interesting parts of One Piece. Some have good backstories, Sanji is particular (even before this) and interesting motivations (particularly: Luffy, Ussop, Sanji, Zoro, and Robin). But the world at large is far more entertaining. Finding out who the yonkou are, their top dogs, the new admirals, cp0, the revolutionary army, void century/poneglyphs, joyboy, prophecies, vegapunk, and how everything fits together. People read for different reasons I guess.

I think this is the one major failing of the New World. Pretty much everyone there that we didn't know (or know the organization of) is weaker than the Straw Hat's big three.
Every Coliseum fighter is significantly weaker than them, maybe except for Hakuba. Seems like only the Yonkou and their top guys, the remaining Shichibukai, and the top Marines/WG will be strong enough to give a challenge. I was hoping some independently operated pirates might be stronger.

There's been no one introduced in the New World, that we didn't know about or whose organization we didn't know about prior, who holds a candle to the big three fighters or the Supernova as of yet. The Coliseum was a good opportunity to give us stronger New World fighters. Fishman Island and Punk Hazard were all filled with fairly weak people. Vergo was the closest thing to what I am talking about.
