Her ridiculous obsession is supposed to be the point of her characterization anyways. Most of the comedy moments are from her autistic shitfits. Unlike many other mc's she's not supposed to be considered mentally well by the readers when it comes to books. The latest translation even had the father realize how horrifying her personality is if she was ever to have something evil as her motivation.
I think that while she is manipulative she does seem to care about others so she's at least hovering at the boundary of a decent human being so far. She went out of her way to make the lace for her sister, is horrified at the childcare system in her new world while still empathetic enough to try and keep the other children safe (My memory on that chapter is fuzzy) and so on. I admit it's not much to work off of but if you remove her obsession then she does have the capacity to be a decent person.
(Or it's probably just my paternal instincts shoving reason out the way)
Other MCs also may have warped my sense of aesthetics given that I keep on running into MCs committing so many war crimes that they make me question if they truly understand why they got atom bombed twice.

I'm actually more fond of Tensei stories lately even the bad ones. Too bad only a few of them get translations compared to all the transported ones.
I though of something like MC gets tranported to another world, his only power is infinite stamina and self-sustenance.
He needs to kill some evil magical dragon, but he doesn't know how to fight, so most of his journey is composed of training and forming a party to kill the dragon.

One day he wakes up in a game of such, and finds a group of adventurers struggling in a fight, he joins in coordinating them the most minmaxing possible. He becomes somewhat famous and start a guild with him as the leader.
Long story short he slowly learns that his shut in ways, lack of empathy and desire for efficiency made him stop being 'human' and tries to return to his more humane ways while struggling to not get wiped out by invading raiders. MCs power is powered by his fear. The more afraid he is of something happening, the more energy he can pull out to negate or reverse it. So you have parts where he feels he's entirely safe and then the loli summons a dragon to fuck him up when she goes to piss and he has to go full panic mode to fight back.
A group of young schoolchildren, longing for a way to escape their horrible lives, are transferred to a magical world where all the problems they had in the real world are magically fixed.
One of them decides however, that escapism is unhealthy and begins systematically disassembling the world despite opposition and pleas from his friends and family not to do so.

A kuudere businessman dies and then is resurrected in a fantasy world as a skeleton because a lich tried to create a skeleton mage and the spell went wrong. He doesn't have any magical power or other bullshit nor does he gets them later, he has just his knowledge from the other world.
After he had managed the resources of the lich for a long time he becomes one of the three big shots, the other two are a Wraith specialized in magic and a Ogre who is a fighter. The lich goes away in order to learn new powerful spells and assigns a third of his army to each of them with the duty to conquer more territories and when he'll return he'll kill the one who did worst. The businessman has now to do his best with his pitiful abilities in a world where economics theories are screwed due to magic by dealing with humans, demons and angels while hoping that the other two generals won't attack him.
Side note: he can't lead an army well because he wasn't a general and there isn't the excuse "I've spent 1000 hours playing Age of Empires".
