That's really nothing new, if you look back at the old Atari 2600, it had thousands of games, and most of them were mediocre or uninteresting garbage, then later if you look at the early home computers like the Commodore 64 and Apple II, there was so much fucking garbage for them.
A key point to all of these was also that they all had clones and ripoffs of actually good games, Pac-Man, Space Invaders, etc, fuck, the 2600 had an official port of Pac-Man and it still had clones of Pac-Man.
Though in the 2600's case this would eventually cause the market to implode, I think that there being a lot of garbage is just the natural result of a free market.
